I apoogize in advance...I think I may have posted this before, but I don't remember if it was on this board or not!

Anyway, I would like some opinions on the Wyndham Palace, specifically, if you stayed there, did you think the rooms were of good quality, was it worth the money, how did you like it overall.

We are travelling down there in Aug for a short trip, and they have a pretty good rate, just me and DH. We don't care if they are family friendly or not, but would like a place without tons of kids.

Thanks!

I stayed there last May and thought it was okay. I liked the resort itself a lot -- nice pool, grounds were nicely kept, decent breakfast buffet and the rooms were well maintained. I wasn't too impressed with the staff, we had some problems with the By Request Program that took a couple of days (and coversations) to straighten out. There are some kids there, but not as many as a Disney resort. The location is nice if you like Downtown Disney.

We booked through their website, so we didn't get an awesome rate. If you go that route, I would check out some prices at the Disney resorts. This year, we were able to stay at AKL for much less than the Wyndham. I've read that people have been getting better rates at DTD hotels by using services like Priceline.com.

We have tried other properties both on and off property and some how we come back to the WYNDHAMPALACE. I think for us it"s the closeness to DTD and all it has to offer. The hotel itself is pretty nice. The breakfast at the Watercress is great! The rooms are larger than most Disney rooms (400 Sq. Feet) and the beds are very comfortable. This time around we got a rate of $199.00 per night with breakfast included. Now I realize on the surface, $199.00 is not a great rate. When I factored in around $40.00 a day for three of us for breakfast, I figure we are paying about $160.00 a night. Priceline deals are O.K. but I have heard too many horror stories using them that I do not even bother. We like the Spa,the excersise room, and it's great having a car rental (Alamo)right there at the hotel. Hope you have a great time!!! :smooth:

We stayed there a couple years ago for a convention in a suite, in the smaller building. The restaurants were nice, the breakfast was wonderful, the pool was dirty, there were a few bugs in the room, and the lobby was beautiful. It is very close to downtown disney and you have the bus service, which is not for me, but just like all Disney bus service. Overall, we liked it because it was a comped room, but I would never pay anywhere near $199 to stay there (no offense), there are just too many nice places out there.

I've never heard of any problems with priceline 4 star hotels in the orlando area that guests booking through the normal route wouldn't have experienced as well!!

If you're going to have a car, bidding 4* on Priceline will get you a nice resort at a great price! It's worth researching, on www.biddingfortravel.com , and seeing what others have won. We love priceline & use it all the time.

The resorts that have turned up on priceline include the wyndham palace, hilton DD (which is very nice, more adult oriented), the marriott orlando world center (good reviews all around) and the Gaylord something, palms?? (newer convention hotel that is supposed to be fantastic!).
