We prefer to stay at WBC, but they were sold out by the time I could get on and book. We are Wyndham owners and we like to stretch out our points usage so we wait til the discounts come out. None this year, though...bummer...

But I digress...we ended up choosing Cypress Palms, we could have had Star Island as well, but we stayed there a couple years ago and thought we should try out a new spot, just to see...kwim?

We arrive on the 28th of this month for 3 nights only before we leave on a cruise. So....anyone have any advice as to where we should request to stay? Are all the units refurbished by now? I was checking out pics on TripAdvisor and it seems lots of units still have older counter tops and furniture? Not that we are picky, but if we could have a renovated unit it would be nice.

Looking for advice and info from recent visitors!! Thanks!

We were there 2 years ago (going back next month) and LOVED it. At that point they told us that 50-60% of the rooms had been renovated, so I would think that by now they all would be done. The pics on TripAdvisor tend to be really outdated.

I don't remember our room, but we overlooked one of the pools and the lake. The way it is laid out there really isn't a bad building from what I could tell.

Thanks! It's good to know that you want to return...we hope we like it too. I am afraid that the pools will seem so lackluster compared to WBC....but like I said this is a very short stay.

I've stayed there 2x, once in 2007 and just this past March 2014. It was great this past March, I think all the renovations have been completed.
The entire resort is updated, flesh & clean, staff was fantastic and there is free wifi in the rooms. I was in building 11 right in front of the playground. Pools are very small and at buildings 9 and 6 (I think). It was very peaceful there and I did tell the staff that the upgrades were definitely noticed since my first trip. It's not a as fancy as WBC, but I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Thanks so much for the info! I had heard that the pools are small...but I guess it's a trade off for using less points to stay. It will be interesting to see if it's a location we would re visit after this stay. I think we have been spoiled by WBC in one sense ie: amenities...but in another sense we are looking forward to the quiet of this resort compared to WBC.

Just a quick update to this thread:

We had a great stay at Wyndham Cypress Palms last month. We stayed only 3 nights, but we for sure will go back to this resort. The room we got was first floor one bedroom deluxe by the pool. The room was completely renovated and in great condition. The pool was small compared to some other resorts, but big enough to accommodate the guests staying in this section of the resort. The staff were wonderful, even the dreaded Wyndham
sales rep was great!
The location was convenient for restaurants and shopping and was surprisingly quiet all things considered.

So, we will definitely be back again!

Hey Guys my family is staying here in a couple of weeks. Any updates on how the renovations are coming along? I saw that some of the rooms weren't done yet. Is that true? Also, how did you like Wyndham Cypress Palms overall? We've never not stayed on Disney property or at WBC so this will be a first out on 192, but I'm acutally pretty excited about it.

Thanks!
