We are going to Disneyland for 5 days at the beginning of December. I had reservations with the Disneyland Travel company to stay at the Candy Cane Inn. But as we are getting closer to our dates and I am feeling a bit crunched on money, I began looking around for a better deal. I ended up cancelling our vacation package with Disney for the Candy Cane Inn and instead booked with Get away today to stay at the Wyndam Anaheim Garden Grove.
I am a bit nervous at this decision. I have NEVER stayed outside of walking distance to Disney. But with this deal through Getaway we are going to be saving over $500. That is a huge amount of money to us. And this package will include free full hot breakfast buffet. I know Candy Cane has a free extended continental breakfast but I am hoping with the full breakfast (eggs and such) maybe we will be able to spend less in the parks for lunch (maybe more of just a small snack at lunch time).
I have searched on here but haven't been able to find much about the Wyndham. Has anyone stayed here? What are your thoughts? How is the free shuttle to Disney? Did I make a huge mistake???? Oh my goodness I am freaking out... I hope I made the right decision. :scared:

Have you checked other motels on harbor? We've stayed at shuttle places and it's such a pain. ETA Disney food is addicting. You'll probably not save any money in the parks.

We are Wyndham rewards members so have stayed here a few times. It's a nice hotel and quietnoverall and find the shuttle very convenient and on time and rarely crowded. I've stayed there for as little as $89/night and really have always enjoyed my stays.

While I still prefer walking distance , this isn't like the ART shuttle as it only services Wyndham and I think one or two other adjacent hotels and has always been prompt pending traffic. That's a huge savings but it depends what is more worth it to you.

Thank you for your input on the shuttle. That has been my biggest worry, since we have never done anything besides walking. But I also thought with it being the hotels shuttle that maybe it wouldn't be as bad. It really is such a big savings that we decided to try being a little bit farther.
Question, where do they drop you off for the shuttle, is it closer to downtown disney or by harbor? Thank you again for your insight. :-)
