Thanks for the heads up robinb...boy the rates at Summerfield were quite a bit better last year....My plans aren't definately this year so I don't think I'll be booking..

Yes, Robin, I remember this well!!

The one thing I really remember is that they said that the money was charged to your card immediately but I wasn't charged until I checked out 3 months later!

We had a great rate at the Summerfield Suites I-Drive in a one bedroom. I just might be persuaded to try this again!

Wow. I signed up for byrequest. Then looked at the rates.
I don't think what I am seeing is right. the special rate at Summerfield Suites LVB is $239.00/night?!?!? If I do NOT use the byrequest number it shows the room rate is only $139.00/night.

The best thing to do is to call the hotel directly. You will not get any real deals for Wyndham at DTD on the net.

I had the same experience you did on the site. But when I called the hotel directly (Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa), I got the rate of $89/ night w/o tax and fees for 10 nights for a deluxe, high floor room (which I booked for October)! I also asked about a 1 bedroom suite-- $129.
Ask for any promo rates or specials. If you are getting anything from one rep, call back to get another. Once you get a rate that you like, give them your byRequest #. Since you are a member, you are eligible for a free, best available room upon check-in.

I got a $65 a night rate on the website at the Wyndham Palace DTD using my byrequest # during the sale!!!!!

Yes, you can get low rates by doing it online, but those deals come with a lot of restrictions and, IMO, very inconvenient terms.
