I have taken a job although I'm still receiving cancer treatment. Not chemo anymore, something different they are testing. It makes me quite tired and my stomach is somewhat upset. The fatigue definitely has an effect on what I do daily and how much I can accomplish. The job requires that I be on my feet for 3 to 4 hours 2 days a week plus every 3rd weekend. I can take a break often and whenever I need to though it doesn't help a lot. I told the boss all about things before I was hired and she was willing to give it a try. After the day is over I'm exhausted. I need a good long nap and to rest. Dh usually winds up cooking and doing enough cleaning to keep us in clean dishes and laundry. I don't have the energy to do both and we really could use the money at least through the holidays. Dh isn't working any o/t right now and isn't expecting any until about Feb. This paycheck, even as small as it is makes a big difference for us. It can mean groceries on the week the rent is due. Without it, there will be no christmas for us.
OTOH, it's on the verge of being too much for me. Everyone including Dh says if it's too much to quit. The problem with quitting is how much we need the money. Like I said, without it, there's no christmas for us. No groceries two weeks a month when we are saving up for rent. I'd feel horribly guilty quitting. I know my health should come first but we all know the practicalities of life often come first. WWYD?? Oh, once Dh gets his o/t early next year I do plan to quit. There will be plenty of money then. It's just getting through the next few months. Again, WWYD?

Shugardrawers - if your doc says to do as much as you can without exhausting yourselp - then quit. You've clearly said your exhausted.
Good luck, SD.
still, worth a try.
My fingers are crossed and my feet are ready to cut a jig for you when you get one of these jobs.
