WWYD: Should I cancel for Fall 2021?

Quoting myself and adding that the assisted living and skilled nursing inits are more closed to family and all other visitors. They were notified of an employee who tested positive. Staff and residents Will all be tested in the coming days. I just hope it there are no other cases and that her facility won’t be closed to visitors for 2 months like it was from January 1 to March 31 this year.

Hopefully everyone else tests negative and any restriction/closure is short.

We have an annual travel emergency medical insurance policy with TuGo. They also do single trip travel medical as well as a range of trip cancelation and interruption plans and bundled plans.

I know their add-on policy for unvaccinated travellers covers covid quarantine.

I would recommend contacting them to see what their coverage is for vaccinated travelers: https://tugo.com/ They also have good information including their policies on their website.

You would also want to check coverage with level 3 and 4 warnings from the government of Canada. e.g. with the level 4 cruise warning, cruises aren't covered by them right now.

Tugo does not cover quarantine costs while the Cdn government has a travel advisory in place. If you look at their plans on their website, it appears like it is covered, but when you call them to clarify, they will inform you that they don't. I spoke with them to ask about this exact circumstance, and they said they do not offer coverage for quarantine costs.

So I cancelled our October trip. I have tickets that were originally purchased for our trip March 2020. They were purchased through a third party and Disney let me change them to tickets we were going to use for October.

Now I know I can go online and modify the tickets to a future date. But does anyone know if Disney will let me cancel these tickets and get a credit instead that I could use towards a package? Just in case the dining plan comes back and I want to book that way?

I can't answer about the tickets but if dining plan comes back you are able to add it to a room only reservation, I know not exactly what you are looking for but at least gives an option if they won't let you get a credit instead.

I also rescheduled flights and a hotel from Oct to December today.

I still need to do tickets but I know then I will be dealing with a price difference. Everything else is so easy to move around.

In December, at least kids won’t have an issue with laying low for Xmas break after travelling. Otherwise it’s a month from school from what I can tell. (2 weeks travel and 2 weeks off school)

Hoping we can make December work as I have vacation I need to use up before year en
