WWYD? September

To me it depends on how old you are. IF you are older I'd go. You never know what could happen and you might never get that chance again. If you're young I'd probably put it off since not everyone has been before.

We will be there around the same time and can not wait to go.
39, 50, 51. To some that is old, to others it is not 😆

I personally think crowds during that week (not including weekends) will be quite low.

I think it all depends on one’s mindset about how they like to enjoy their time at WDW. I really enjoyed our trip in July - it was more relaxing, a slower pace, no rushing around to FPs or early rope drop, etc. Sure there was a big missing piece with no shows, some restaurants/dining options closed, and limited nighttime options, but we adapted and I didn’t think it took away from the experience to the degree to not make it worth it for us. It just made it different.

Granted I’m a bought in AP who goes a few times a year so no one individual trip needs to have everything and I’m generally just happy to be there, so my perspective won’t fit all touring habits.

LOL. I was thinking over 70, That's a bit tougher decision though than 30 year olds. I think I might still go but also rent a car so you can get off property in the evenings and see some other things maybe.

Ultimately, I think it would depend on what your expectations are and how you go to the park (rope drop, nighttime hours, etc.) and how long you are there for.

I feel like whatever you do you will have some regrets. Cancel and you don't get to go to Disney. Go and you will be comparing your what it should be with what it actually is.

I think I would still give it a shot and like others have said, stay at a resort that will keep you happy, and book dining for the night time. Good luck!

I mean September 8-11. The Tuesday-Friday after labor day weekend.

That makes it a pass for me then. Crowd sizes are already increasing on Fridays now. Id expect at least some people would want to take advantage of already having Monday off and make a week of it so while it wouldnt be Labor Day weekend sized crowds, they shoul be larger than what you are currently seeing reported during the week now.

Good luck on whatever you decide. Right now there arent easy choices, especially when you are spending someone else's, time, money and risk allocation. A couple of girlfriends usually come down to visit me every June and I told them I wasnt comfortable with them traveling down in late April. Their area was doing much worse then here at the time and I am compromised. Broke my heart but if they had come during the usual week they would have been facing a mandatory 2 week quarantine upon return because my area got way worse than theirs (so their area put restrictions out). One of them lost a grandfather when they should have been here so had they been here they would have missed the funeral due to quarantine. It ended up working out for the best but it really sucked to be the one to make the call. So I understand how its a hard choice, especially when you are traveling with others.

Well we’re going 9/6 to 9/11. Family thinks we are crazy but YOLO! :cool1:

I’ve made a bunch of Disney masks and we’ll be super careful

I don't want to pay full price for Disney with the reduced experience. I would cancel for sure. I would plan another type of trip where you aren't paying full price for much less.

I had a trip planned for the same time frame and canceled. While I’ve been plenty of time we were taking children for their first trip. I also had a hard time swallowing full price for a diminished experience. We’re waiting until things go back to a more normal experience.

Lower your expectations and you will never be disappointed with anything or anyone. Disney just isn't disney now.

We are having the same discussion about our October trip. We lost our April trip when everything was closed and nothing we can do about that. From everything that I read, it sounds like Disney is doing a good job with safety in the parks. Its really the 2 flights down and back that worry me and driving is not an option.

We booked a trip to take our granddaughter and her parents this December last January. Then this happened. My wife is very concerned about the Disney experience not being the same and has considered postponing the trip. When we discussed it with our son, he said they’ve been cooped up in their house for months, having cancelled a vacation in May. He said a partial Disney experience Is better than none. Besides, we’ll have more opportunities to give her what hopefully will be a “normal” Disney experience.

You should go. The criticism of the current experience is like someone going to a 3 hour 3-D movie and afterward never watching any 1.5 hour 2D movies since they would not be getting the "full experience." The current experience is different from the recent past, but that doesn't make it bad. It's about having fun with what's available and not lamenting about what is not available and quality time, not quantity.

We would not go. In addition to the diminished experience we would not want to do Disney in masks and always having to be aware of the possible presence of Covid. For us that would not be a relaxing experience. In addition, no way are we getting on an airplane right now.
We’re pretty firm believers in delayed gratification and our approach right now is to tough this pandemic out and look forward to our beloved Disney and other travel adventures in the future. As others have said, good luck to you what ever decision you make.

As others have mentioned, I think that will likely be the busiest week of September:/ to me the trickiest part of this time of year is how hot it still is. I personally am not comfortable dining inside here in Florida yet, so it’s all up to your comfort level. Disney opening a testing center onsite does not bode well to me . Personally early December/Jan/early Feb are when I would shoot for, if possible..

I would still go. Especially since you have a first timer. There is still sooo much to do in all of WDW. A first timer will not know what she is missing....but, if this were normal times, the first timer is always shocked by crowds, excessive planning, timing FPs with ADRs, and all that. This will be a great introductory trip and a way for the three of you to spend more time together, relaxing at the pool, taking time to dine, sitting in a lounge, strolling through the park...instead of the normal craziness.

We had to postpone a trip and are now all in for November. I've been a lot, but it will be my foster son's first trip. I am a little worried about diminished experience, but you can bet once all the experiences are back, the price will be adjusted up dramatically to start making up for loses. I was on the fence about it, but there will still be enough with what is open to keep him busy since he has never seen any of it and the reduced park hours will force us to slow down (which is something I'm generally not good at).

Going and some adult kids are coming down. Snagged our favorite, YC. Held my breath about SAB. Whew! Exhale! Anyway, we won't be doing parks as I am the only one with AP. But we will have fun at pool and doing big TS dinners at night, two over at DS which should be fun. I will certainly miss the parks, but alas, there's always tomorrow.....

I would still go. Time with just your sisters is priceless! You can enjoy the pool or even Disney Springs restaurants after parks are closed. Are you staying at a resort that you can really enjoy?

I've decided we're going.. because the world just plain sucks right now.. and partly because our DVC rental is non-refundable, but mostly because the world sucks right now. You can put it off for the perfect time, and do all the perfect planning, but who knows what is around the corner. I think this year has proven that life doesn't care about your plans and will hurl curveballs at you the entire at-bat; but this is a once in a lifetime chance to experience Disney in a way you will never experience it again. I say go. Go with limited expectations and stress about your park itinerary, and see where it takes you.
