WWYD ? Ref Washer/Dryer

I know I can count on my freeps for advice. We're moving today actually but the house (rental) doesn't come with a washer & dryer. So I was checking my local paper & Brandsmart has a special of both washer & dryer for $400. It comes with warranty. On Craigslist my DH found a used set for $200 in good condition. But we have a DS 5 & we do ALOT of laundry. My DH wants to save $ but I think that for $200 more we get some peace of mind b/c the new washer & dryer has warranty for parts & labor. What would you guys do? I mean budget wise it won't be too much of a hardship. I need to decide by tomorrow.

For the difference in price, I'd personally go with the new set if you can afford it. At least that way you know exactly what you're getting and like you said you get a warranty. They'll probably last a lot longer too.

It would depend on the age of the used set and the brand vs the brand of the new set. If the used set is a better brand and only a couple of years old vs new but a non known brand, I would go with the used set. G/L!

Were in the opposite situation. We just moved into a rental that has a new washer and dryer. Ours are now in my dining room . I listed them on craigslist for 250.00 but have had no hits yet. I may lower it to 200.00. There about 6 years old in great condition. I guess it depends on how well kept the used ones are. If money is not a issue then probably go for the new ones.

DITTO! And, why are the folks selling theirs for $200? Doesn't clean well enough, won the lottery, power surge damage, or what? hmmmm, I don't like the unknown and the unknown here is that you don't know how much abuse those things got under their current owner. Sounds like it'll cost you $200 [more] for peace of mind!
