WWYD - Price savings for early a.m. flight

I am currently flying out of MCO on SW to go home around 12:30 pm on a Sunday for $300. one way. I could move it to an earlier flight at 7:40 am for $160. one way, but I have never been to the MCO airport that early in the morning. I will have a rental car, so MDE 3 hour pick up before flight is not a concern, but I would need to have rental car filled up and returned. It seems I would need to be up no later than 4:00 a.m. and that just sounds miserable, but that's a nice chunk of change.

I always refill the rental car the night before at one of the WDW Hess stations.

Keep in mind you don't get the money back, it's a credit for a future flight.

If you can use the credit I'd do it. That's a nice savings and it's not like you were going to be able to do anything before the 12:30 flight anyways. You could consider checking out a day earlier and staying at a cheaper hotel near the airport if you're looking for an easier drive to the airport and could save some money too.

Now for me if it was the difference between a late afternoon flight and an AM flight I'd keep the late afternoon. We can still enjoy a morning at the park or at the resort that way.
