And don't forget- you'll have a washer and a dryer in your room, so you don't need to bring as much clothing with you as you can throw a load of dirty clothes in at night a dry them in the morning! This is one of my favorite things staying at DVC. You can pack a carry on bag for the flight and not have to check any luggage if you don't want to!

We got the upgrade and we are booked 8/26-8/31. It is so hard to find a pattern! It must be random.

Once again, the email states that the upgrade is for those who booked at a value resort arriving between 8/26 and 9/01. I think they randomly selected people within those parameters to recieve the upgrade.

O.k. I just tried to do my upgrade and was told I would loose my free dinning offer. I have read a few of these posts and saw were some of you had a CM looking into this. Did anyone get both and if so what did you have to say to get them both? If not is it worth it to stay at these resorts and then pay oop for food? when they switch us will I lose my ADR and need to re-book. I so want to stay at the nice resorts but food was not budgeted in since we would have DDP.

What else can one say when reading about this, but; wow! Congratulations to everyone who got an upgrade. It'll be a long 80-some days to wait, but from what I've read it's worth it. Have a fab time at the DVC's, people! How about magic, almost can't get more magical than this, can it?

And extra bonus; those going a week later can start each morning with that nice tingle of excitement in their tummy, whether or not this deal will extend to their arrival-date and if they are picked. If you ask me, just that feeling is a little pixiedust.

I was told that it is completely random. I believe it too because there is really no rhyme or reason. The only thing I see is that it is Pop and ASM and that it seems most people booked within the first week or two of the promotion. That would include myself so I will keep my fingers crossed.

I got the upgrade, went from a preferred room at ASMu to a 1 bedroom villa at OKW. The CM who I spoke to today told me that the few people she'd had call in with the upgrade all had reservations startin on 8/26 and had booked packages online.

It took forever to get it booked though. I was on the phone for almost an hour. Eventually they just cancelled the old reservation and booked a new under under a new reservation #. And I'm so glad I checked with the DIS first because the CM first told me that the upgrade was only good for a studio but I told her I had seen others on the Disboards got upgrades to the 1 bedroom villas and sure enough she was able to do it for me.

Like others have said, you should not lose free dining so get back on the phone (I called 3 times yesterday), but as far as ADRs go, that's a separate system and all your reservations should still be there.

I'm also one of those people they never win anything, blah, blah, blah. To me this is like winning a night at the castle. But instead for 5 nights!! The only pattern I see is the certain check in dates that we fall under. I'm also one of those that tried the 40% code 6 times and finally got our trip for the end of Sept. and Dec. for $49.00 a night @ POP. So, I'm feeling pretty darn lucky!! This will probably be the only time we get to stay on a property like this so we are going to enjoy it. We truly loved staying at POP though. It's our favorite value resort! You can't beat it for the money!

I do have one question, why would anyone consider not upgrading? For the life of me I can't figure that one out. Those one bedroom villas are great and offer so much more room. Loved the washer and dryer in our villa too.

One reason my friend called and asked me to take the upgrade or not was ....when planning her family's trip she could only afford a value resort and looked into only those , never checking out any of the others. She had no idea about the resorts in the upgrade.

FYI: for those not familar with OKW and SSR, just to make sure you know and are prepared, the one bedrooms will have one king bed and a queen sofa sleeper.

The studios at SSR will have one queen and one full size sofa bed.
The studios at OKW will have two queen beds.

The one bedrooms at OKW are huge with a full kitchen, large living area and dining room.

I also want to point out that the sofa bed is a new style , there is no bar in the middle of the mattress to hurt your back. The sofa inverts upon itself and is very comfy. As a big guy I had no complaints about using it after sleeping on it!!

Congrats to you people who got the free upgrades!!! I'll be staying at POP 9/4-9/7 but I guess I won't be offered anything since my dates don't fall within the arrival times you all listed. That is so exciting though that Disney is offering this to their guests. ENJOY!

We're in!!! SSR 8/26-9/3 I'm part of a magical gathering group and the only one who got the code. They let us ALL upgrade

We booked the second day DDP was offered to Disney Visa holders. We're from Michigan...I don't think there is any rhyme or reason because the other two in our group didn't get the code but they did everything I did. I've been blessed with my YOMD wish Good luck to all! We LOVE DISNEY!!!!

I got the code too! I'd booked first day of free DDP for DV holders, POP, and upgraded to a studio at SSR. The CM said I was keeping my free dining. I now see the SSR reservation in My Disney Vacation (strangely enough, the old POP version is still there too), and will watch for my postal mail confirmation to be sure the free dining's still there.

I am beside myself! I've never stayed anywhere onsite except POP, and could never really consider DVC, so this is a huge treat. I know DS10 would probably rather stick with POP, since he loves loves loves the theming there, but he'll get over it! So far I've kept the trip a surprise, so he may never know we were originally booked there.

My check in date is the 26th also. Now I am really depressed that I used a TA as I assume only direct booking would ever get a special offer. Oh well! Last year I booked a SW package and learned from that lesson and now I learned another!!
