We'll only be in Epcot 1 day next week - Friday.

Would you do lunch at 11:30 at LeCellier then snack/counter/F&W kiosks for dinner
OR
snack around the kiosks for lunch earlier in the day and go to 6:00 dinner at Chef's de France. Both menus look delicious and we've never been to either one. And we're on regular DDP if that makes any difference.

I would snack around earlier in the day and then go to Les Chefs for dinner. My DH and I have been to Le Celliar and it was just okay to us. We will be trying Les Chefs this December and are really excited. Either way I hope you have a magical trip.
And if you do decide on Les Chefs, let me know how it was.

I would pick lunch at Le Cellier. Dinner there is usually our favorite meal of any trip. It's funny, we had dinner at Chefs last year and were really disappointed. DS wanted to give it another try so we did lunch there this year and loved it.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. I would be afraid that if we snacked all day, we wouldn't be hungry for a big dinner. Having an early lunch gives you time to 'get hungry' before snacking around for dinner. Just my two cents.

Based on our dinner at Chefs de France, I'd do Le Cellier for lunch. Our Chefs dinner was a couple of years ago and we haven't been back. It used to be a must-do. Not anymore.

I have eaten at both many times....and I'd do Le Cellier for lunch.

Chefs de France is okay in my book - nothing great - and sometimes inconsistant. Le Cellier is always WONDERFUL!!

tough call. When we go we will have a light lunch and then hit up Epcot around 4 and snack around the booths until around 11 or 12 (we are going on a Friday night, EMH), and I don't think I could eat from the food booths as much as we do if we had a Le Cellier-caliber lunch.

Well as we did BOTH of those for those exact meals ( on different days ) when we were there, my vote is for Le Cellier.

That being said, they WERE both great restaurants and i don't think you'll be dissapointed either way. I just preferred the atmosphere and service at Le Cellier.

My vote is for Chefs. We had an unbelievable dinner and the most memorable experience of our whole trip this past August.:thumbsup2

Lunch at Le Cellier then fish n' chips for dinner while watching the fireworks :thumbsup2

our vote would be chefs.
after repeated visits to both, we found chefs' food more interesting (both variety of options as well as taste), the atmosphere authentic, & waitstaff attentive (more of a "fine" restaurant).

lecellier is good, but the cuisine is average (in taste & variety), imho. service has been (almost) consistantly good, atmosphere is fitting with theme (dark). due to its small size, it does get very noisy & crowded.

you should really try both for yourself, but if not possible i would recommend chefs ~ it is more of an experience.:)

I order a french beer at chef's last time I was there. Which the waiter poured like a bottle of wine  Foam Foam Foam.

i would have to go with chefs for dinner - food is good and it does feel more authentic...we've eated at le cellier several times and while the food is good, the service was okay and the experience wasn't particularly memorable.

Sounds to me like you don't have ADR's yet and I just called and tried to get anything for Tuesday, October 7th at EPCOT and every restaurant is booked solid.......I will be calling back daily but given that Le Cellier usually books solid 180 days out.....not looking good.

We did both -- dinner at Chef's on 9/19 and Lunch at Le Cellier 9/20.

Food at Chef's was good -- DH had the duck, I had the tenderloin. Our waiter was awful. He was an older gentleman -- surly, dismissive, barely spoke to us, slow...and very attentive to the table next to us. They were clearly repeat customers and he stood and chatted with them while we waited for our check. And waited...and waited. Then he took our KTTW, and left...and we waited. And waited. And waited. Until the manager came by our table and asked if everything was ok and we said, "NO! Our waiter disappeared with our card, we just got here, we're exhausted from our long flight, and we want to go back to our hotel now." The manager offered to buy us a drink, but we declined, said we really just wanted to get back to our hotel to rest. Finally, the waiter appeared with a mumbled apology that he was having problems with the computer. Based on that service, I can't see that we will make another ADR at Chef's. The food was good, but not THAT good.

Lunch at Le Cellier was fabulous. Our waiter was great, very knowledgeable about the food, and friendly, attentive without being obtrusive, which is great service. We ordered a cup of the cheddar cheese soup to taste -- it was just right for dipping our bread, sort of like a cheese fondue. It was delicious but very, very rich -- I can't imagine eating a whole bowl of it. The party at the table next to us was on the deluxe plan and the woman who ordered the soup couldn't finish it (she told us yes, the deluxe was just WAY too much food). Our steaks were...probably the best steaks we have ever eaten. Anywhere. We both got the mushroom filet (his medium rare, mine medium, we got them just as we ordered). I had the risotto, he had the cream cheese mashed potatoes, both were wonderful. I got the maple creme brulee, which was great and very "Canadian", but he got the cherry sorbet which was incredible...glad he shared with me :lovestruc

Chef's has been our favorite for dinner our last two trips. DH and I both find the food to be magnificent. Service is fine, nothing spectacular, but the food makes up for it.

Another vote for Chef's! I love it! And since I'm in charge of making ressies, we eat there every time:lmao: I like Le Cellier too, but would pick Chef de France if I couldn't do both. I can't believe I actually got a ressie during Thanksgiving week for dinner there. We are also trying Coral Reef for the first time and I can't wait!

I do actually - I have an 11:30 ADR at LeCellier, then a dinner booked at 6:45 at Chef's. Since one is lunch and one is dinner, it's not a "double booking".

I'm going to decide after reading some reviews about the F&W booths this weekend and cancel one of them before I leave for my trip. UGH - I really want to do both, but we're using old passes that are base tix w/no hoppers and since it's a short trip we'll only have 1 Epcot Day, and there's just no way we can eat both of those big meals in one day.
