We have a trip planned for spring break, staying with my parents at OKW Saturday to Saturday. The kids have a noon dismissal from school on Friday before we leave, so we can fly down Friday. We'd likely *land* around dinnertime (although you can never tell what an airline schedule will do) unless we just pull them for the full day so we can fly out earlier. What would you do:

(a) Book a room either on the monorail line or BC/BW and plan to check in, drop the carryons in the room, and run to a park for the night. (Resort here chosen for proximity to the parks, knowing it will cost more, to get more park time. We would qualify for an AP discount if any are available.)

(b) Book a value resort and go to bed after dinner, planning on getting up early to check the bags with bell services for transport to OKW, then hit the parks at rope drop. (Resort chosen for cost. We'd just enjoy the extra hours in the park in the morning.)

(c) Join with the grandparents to book two DVC studios for the night, even though that involves borrowing points from the following year and paying out of pocket for additional points. (This might cost as much as a monorail resort, but we maybe could try a new DVC resort, like VWL or AKL. Likely, there would be no extra park time on the evening of arrival.)

I would probably get a room at the Buena Vista Palace at Downtown Disney. It's within walking distance, there's several others in that area as well, and you can hang out at DTD for the night, have dinner, shop, then get up early and hit the parks. Otherwise, I would stay at BC/BWI and walk into Epcot for the night. Always one for using the AP whenever possible! And of course, I would definitely take my kids out of school for the entire day to get there earlier - especially if it's only a half day anyway, the last day before spring break. (In that case I might even consider leaving Thursday night!)

Would like to be OP so I can use Magical Express. ;)

It sure is the slippery slope. Take her out all day Friday, why not leave Thursday night? Why not take her out Thursday and leave Wednesday night? LOL! Well, DH has to go to work at some point to pay for all of this!
