WWYD about school and moving

Nothing like being the COOL NEW kid arriving with a small token gift for all the kids in the class even if it's just a couple bags of oreos they share at lunch. Check with the teacher see what is approved an what isn't 1st tho.

Maybe the 1st or 2nd Saturday after moving invite all the boys an their familes to a play date in the park say from 1 -3 you will provide koolaid an snacks. Maybe leave it open to arrive anytime between 1 an 2:30 they can come an go as they want. Be a GREAT chance for you to meet some new friends too I'm sure. Takes the pressure off you to have house an yard perfect for the date.

All things considered it will be enough for him to get used to moving to a new place. He shouldn't be penalized because you will not actually live in district. Kids start school after the beginning date ....ALL THE TIME....it is what it is!! Elementaries do an excellent job of having other kids help new students transition in....especially in the lower grades. He should be fine. If you were a closer drive I would say go for it but an hour away...for 1/2 day Kindergarten..no. Believe me, you will have far too many things that you are doing having just moved.

Also, I work in schools so I say this with some knowledge, most schools that start before labor day expect an influx of new students after labor day (we always do...even though we have started before labor day always in the 12 years since I worked here). Lots of people assume school doesn't start until after labor day so they don't even bother to enroll their kids until then.
