WWTBAM with Regis

Just heard there's going to be another round of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Regis Philbin on ABC in a few days, and the qualifying period has come and gone! I'm extremely disappointed!

Did anyone out there in DISboard-land qualify?

I qualified by phone and taped my show last Thursday. My show will be on Monday 8pm. It was a great experience!

I signed a confidentiality agreement so I can't say very much except that Regis was very kind and its a lot harder to play in real life!

Congrats to you!!! I almost made to play on the Meredith Viera one at WDW and it was very interesting. I always like Regis better at this and didn't really care for Meredith doing it until I was there in person. She is too funny!! We could hear her singing as she was coming in with all her make up and hair people! She also slipped when entering for one of the shows and we had to wait for her to change clothes and shoes and come back to retape! I can't wait to see your show!!!

Congrats! How did you hear about the qualifying? I completely missed it - maybe you just need to be a regular ABC viewer.

Thanks! Well I live in the New York area, so I don't know if it was promoted differently here. I just saw a commercial one night (Saturday), wrote down the number and tried! Apparently, there was 10 days of qualifying phone calls.

From what I gathered, though, is that Millionaire has auditions in different parts of the country as well as applying by submitting a videotape. I would check the website on how to get on the show.

My group was two shows of ten people each. Contestants chosen were pretty equal amongst the three different ways of qualifying. I was told that the phone qualifiers were chosen completely randomly from the pool of those who answered 5 questions via phone, so I feel really lucky I was chosen at all!

She was the one from Liberty, NY. (MK, I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. We are just so proud of you. )

My kids were so excited to see her on TV being that they've met her before. I was pretty darn excited too.
