Hi All,

We will be taking advantage of Early Entry as we will guests of PBH. Just curious should we do Ollivanders or FJ first. I also plan on going back in the evening? Would it be better to try Ollivanders then. Our priority is FJ.

Thanks!

You should head straight for Ollivanders first and then Forbidden Journey...the line gets very long very quickly.

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but trying to learn as much about US/IOA as I can...

Is Ollivander's an "attraction" or just a store?

Good question, there is a lot of confusion about this.

Ollivander's is a show attraction where the scene from HP1 is recreated with a guest in the role of Harry. You cannot buy a thing here. However...

You exit the show into one of two Owl Post stores, where you can buy wands. These stores are also accessible without going through Ollivander's.

The wait for Ollivander's is easily among the worst anywhere at UO, for a variety of reasons. While the wait for FJ can be longer (although I think that is unusual), it is more bearable because of the top-notch queue throughout most of it. Ollivander's queue is a standard switchback outside in the elements and moves slowly.

Personally I'd skip Olivander's, for me the line just wasn't worth it. If you want a wand you can easily get one and not have to wait in that line, it's a LONG ONE and slow.

Head right to FJ, and enjoy it. It was a blast, pure and simple. One of the best attractions at IOA if you ask me.

If Ollivanders is a must do for you, then absolutely do that first thing. In my experience, the lines rarely die down for that, even into the evening. We have been there several times just before park closing and the line has still been huge.

Yes, you can buy a wand without doing the 'show' but if you have kids, it is worth doing the show at least once.

Thanks all....this will be our second visit to WWoHP. Last time, I didn't do Ollivanders, but bought my wand inside the shop.

FJ is a must do for me this trip. I couldn't ride it last time...see my banner below. My family says that this ride was my single most important motivation to becoming healthier...not so sure I agree with them ;)

I think I may just do early entry twice as we will be at PBH for four nights. One time FJ and once Ollivanders. I just really want to try and catch the show.

I was hoping that Ollivander's line would lessen near night, but it seems that is not the case. Maybe a second ride on FJ would be in order though:cool1:

Congratulations on your weight loss (missed the banner when reading your OP). Whether FJ was your motivation or not, what better motivation to have. I really hope it lives up to your expectations. What an amazing achievement :worship:

I think the tactic of doing EE twice at IOA is probably a good one. And, whilst the line for Ollivanders does not usually lessen towards the end of the day, we have found that the line for FJ definitely does. Having said that, last summer when we were there, we were managing to ride a couple of times in a row first thing (during EE) before the queues began to mount up.

Thanks for the encouragement! My whole family rode it last time and are telling me I will LOVE it!
