WWOHP - is it spoilerish at all?

My 7-y.o. has read the first two HP books and seen the first two films. We were thinking of taking her to WWOHP, and we're wondering if there was anything that would majorly spoil Books 3-7 for her? I cannot remember hearing about anything particularly spoilerish in the rides or or the land as a whole, but I just wanted to verify.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks much.

I don't think there's anything that's a real spoiler. Hagrid has a hippogriff at his hut, but that's introduced early in Book 3. At one point, Ron accidentally makes it snow in the castle, but that's not a big plot element. There are a lot of settings from the books/movies, but there isn't a lot of plot information.

None of the major plot elements are revealed. You don't find out that anyone or anything dies and you don't find out results for any competitions or relationships.

Maybe read book 3 and 4 or watch those two movies.

I believe the set up for Hogsmead is based on the 3rd movie sets. You first learn about Hogsmead in the third book so that will give you a good idea of what you are seeing.

The Dragon Challenge queue is set up with the Tri-Wizard tournament stuff from book 4 plus sometimes the tri-wizard champs from the 2 other schools make an appearance.

I concur with the PP's. The WWOHP was set up to be in the year 4 time frame. That being said, nothing qualifies as a spoiler. If you get to year 3 and 4 later, your kids will say "I remember seeing that at Universal", not "I knew that was coming."

Just an FYI, we went in December and the snow no longer occurs inside Hogwarts.

Don't know why, or if it was just temporary or what (I thought possibly because it was very close to Christmas time they moved it for some reason), but the machine was gone, no noise at all occurred (so it wasn't like it was broken/ incorrectly working), looked around and couldn't find it relocated.

It was a major bummer because that is one of my favorite parts being that it never actually snows here in Florida, haha.

it was working this month when i was there.

Then it is likely as I suspected, they used it elsewhere for Christmas.

Glad it is back though!

To OP: Like many have said, I would absolutely read 3 and 4 before going. You will not understand some major themed moments, and I think some of the stuff (especially in the gift shop) could ruin and spoil some of the upcoming parts of the story.

I think 3 and 4 are arguably the best books in the series, so it won't be hard to finish them as you won't want to put them down!

Oh, I've read all the books many times over. POA and GOF are great, but they definitely ramp up some of the darker elements of the story. I'm not sure I'm ready to introduce my 7-y.o. to such themes.

Thanks!
