My sister and I are going to Disney in April/May. We are planning to go to WWoHP for one day. This is really our only interest at IOA. We planned to maybe ride a few rides outside of Harry Potter on our way out like maybe Jurassic Park. We have breakfast reservations at 7:30 AM. I plan to be leaving Disney by 8:15 at the latest which should put us at US around 8:45. We are young adults and can walk quickly and probably will be out of excitement so we should be at the gates by 9 or 9:15.

I have a few questions that I am hoping someone can help me out with. :)

The date we are going is a 4/30. It's a Saturday. IOA is open only from 9-5. Should we expect it to be really busy? I was thinking no since school would not be out, but Easter falls late this year and it's a Saturday. I wasn't sure how many local kids visit the parks on the weekend or if the short hours would effect the crowds. With Disney's EMHs, this is really the best date for our schedule, but I could possibly change it. The full days we have are Fri 4/29 to Tues 5/3.

Are bags really an issue? I would like to carry at least one between the two of us for souvenirs. My original plan was to do HP and then go do some other things and return to HP to get our souvenirs before leaving and not carry a bag. However, I'm afraid if it's busy that when we return we may not get back in.

Do most of the coaster's at IOA have single rider lines? My sister loves them. I do not.

Thanks so much for any help!!

Don't forget about Spiderman, one of the best high tech rides in the world, not like anything you'll ever see you'll definitely want to ride that.

I'm not a bag person so I can't advise you that, I hate to really carry anything, including a camera into a park. As far as I know the only lockers they have are pretty small, if you were wondering about lockers. They wouldn't fit like a big bag or anything I DON"T THINK, not totally sure about it all, since I never carry bags.

If WWoHP is a must for you, I recommend High-tailing it over there as soon as you arrive. It is very busy because it is so new.Keep in mind that onsite resort guests at Universal get into WWoHP 1 hour bfore the rest of the world so it will already have waits for it.

Just an FYI...the reason the parks close early on 4/30 is because of GradBash which starts at 7pm and encompasses both parks. CityWalk will be packed later in the evening so be prepared for that. The parks won't be affected too much since this event is a hard ticket event and a park sweep is done at park closing to make sure everyone is out.

Bags can be an issue. Because of the type of rides which do not allow carryon items, free lockers are provided for the duration of the ride time. I would try to make due with cargo shorts or a fanny pack instead of carrying a big bag around with you.

The coasters have single rider lines and usually save a lot of time over the standby queue. However...you will miss all the details in the different queues so you should plan to go through the standby line at least once to see everything.

you can make purchases at anytime during the day while you are in the park.

have the TM wrap your purchase and send up to the main store to be held for pick up at the end of the day.

no worry about carrying bags around the park then.
