I just read on another post about an expansion. Is this true? Can someone give me details about when this is expected to begin & end?

It's already under construction right now. They just haven't made an official announcement yet. My guess on expected completion time is around 2015.

They're working very fast with coaster track already in place inside the huge building where the rumored Gringot's bank roller coaster is going. The two train stations in both parks are also in construction so I would estimate an early-mid 2014 opening to the new Potter area at Universal with the Hogwarts Express connecting it to the IOA Potter side.Aside from the Potter expansion and Transformers opening this year more rumors are flying all over the place. You have the one where Poseidon's Fury is closing to make room for a Grinch / Mt. Crumpet themed coaster ride and just today there's a new one where Universal is in talks with the Tolkien family to possibly create a Middle Earth attraction or theme park, here's a link.

Now that would be something indeed! :teeth:

We will possibly be in the area in October. Do you think it is worth it to go this year? Or wait til we return next fall?

HP2 won't be finished this year but Transformers is opening this summer. HP2 should be finished in 2014 or 2015...no one really knows yet.

Ok, so do you think it would be worth it to go in October while we are there? Or wait until next October when we return?

I would go this year..No telling if HP2 wold be open next October either, and if it is, it will be incredibly mobbed initially.

check out the minionions ride, the transformer ride this year, then do a repeat visit once the extension of parry hotter is opened in a future trip.

A Gringot's roller coaster....It always seemed so obvious...why oh why was it not in the first one. Can't wait. My daughter and I have always said they needed one. :wizard:

Isn't there also talk of possibly expanding Seuss Landing? Am I pathetic for being kind of excited about this? :teeth:

This is the big reason for us going this year. When do the dates usually come out for this? I'm wanting to nail down a RPR reservation and start planning, but can't do it until I know for sure there's an HHN night scheduled during our stay.

You can bet on every Thursday through Sunday in October and a couple of Wednesday nights thrown in. The official dates won't be out until late summer.

the last weekend of sept should be included in the hhn dates.

opening weekend last year started 2nd last weekend of sept.
opening weekend is on friday and saturday only with a midnight closing.
it depends on how the dates fall each year.

if this is your first hhn event, try to avoid hell week.
that should be midish week of the month.

crowded with teens during the day and evening.

wow...
it's early january and now i'm getting excited for hhn already!

are you meaning in the month of October or the 1st or 3rd week of hhn?

if you want to go opening weekend, don't.

yes it is exciting but the event is only on friday and saturday for the opening and closing at midnight.

kinks haven't been worked out yet.

if you mean in the month of october, things will be running smoother then.

I meant October. I'm actually kind of leaning towards the 21st-26th. Hopefully, that will miss hell week. Don't exactly know when it will be, but I'm pretty sure I don't want any part of it .:rotfl:
