Someone mentioned that their WW meeting topic was how to prepare for Thanksgiving...How about listing some of our ideas here? I need all the help that I can get! My tip is that I'll be preparing the desserts (WW-style!), since that is my weakness & I probably couldn't stay away from the ones that other people will bring. Any more ideas? :sunny:

I'll share what we did in our meeting. We each got a paper plate and were instructed to write down everything we anticipated eating on Thanksgiving, starting with breakfast, including drinks, desserts ect. The instr. passed out a sheet with point values for common Thanksgiving foods and we then added up our points. Mine came to 54! But I have come up with a couple of ways to reduce that number without deprivation. I am going to try SnackyStack's crustless, fat-free, sugar-free pumpkin pie. The instr also gave us a recipe:

1 can of pumpkin mixed into a dry spice cake mix with a little water to blend easily. Spray pan with nonstick spray and bake as package says (may be done 5 or more minutes earlier than package says). She says it is 2 points per serving if you slice it into 24 pieces. Sounds good!

I'm also going to bring butternut squash wihtout any butter or fat and I know my sister will bring a great garden salad. I'm planning on redistributing my portions this year. Usually I skip the salad altogether to make more room for mashed potatoes and stuffing!!!!!

ANyone else?

The pumpkin pie recipe is in this thread:

plutosmyfav... Thanks for sharing! I guess I really need to plan out my points too, so I can be more prepared. That's a great idea! ::yes::

kristi1357... We will also be going on an early Dec. trip to the World, and I am FREAKED out about it! I am so worried, because I know I can't stay totally OP when I'm there, and I don't really want to. But, I don't want to go overboard either. Last Dec. we went to the parks on on the cruise, and I went off WW, and I never could get a firm hold again. I continued to go to my WW meetings for 3 more months, but couldn't get motivated to lose again. I just don't want that to happen again! :(

Disneyfan551-

We are staying at the BCV and will have the kitchenette, so I am going to do breakfast in the room every morning: WW bagel, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. And bring a few bottles of water with me to the parks too. I'll just try to eat more sensibly for lunch & dinner - and alot less snacking. Oh yeah - Jolly Time 94% fat free in the room for a night time snack! Kudos MM bars for snacks at the park maybe...

I am hoping all the extra walking will offset lunch & dinner. I think it will be ok since we are the walking type - walk from Epcot to MGM - walk from the parking lot instead of tram, etc.

Lost 2 lbs. this week! So, that's 10 lbs. down with WW! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc Time for a new clippie!! :teeth:

Thanks everyone! Kristi1357...We'll be arriving at POP next Friday on Dec. 3rd!!! I'm so excited!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc Just really worried about my eating habits while there, though...

We should start a "how to eat healthy while in WDW" thread! I need ideas BADLY! I am very scared of gaining back the 10 I lost so far.

Weekly check-in: Down 1.5 lbs this week, for a total of 71! :Pinkbounc New clippie time! :sunny:

Way to go KimRaye!!! :thewave: That new clippie looks sooo good on you! ;)

CONGRATULATIONS KIMRAYE!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to have your clippie, too!

WI is in 1 1/2 hours for me-- I'll be back to report!

Have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to sign on.

Lost an amazing 3 lbs this week, to bring my WW online loss to 14 lbs and my total WW loss to 25. Even got my new clippie today.

We leave in under 2 weeks so I'm hoping for another pound or two to make me feel a bit more comfortable for our trip.

Congrats to all the great losses out there.

Great job, Janet! Your new clippie looks great:)

I'm just back from WI: 3.2 lbs down!!! My instructor cautioned me on rapid weight loss again. I guess it causes the risk of gall stones. I think my rapid weight loss is due to exercise, so hopefully that isn't a risk. Anyone else get cautions?

I've gotten those a LOT! Sometimes it's just 2 good weeks in a row, totaling over 4 lbs that causes the 'warnings'.

Great job on the loss Sundie!!!

My instructor talked about losing too much a few weeks ago when I was losing a 2 pound a week average. They just don't recommend it... If it comes off slowly, you're more likely to keep it off. 3.6 pounds is a lot, but I think your okay, as long as you don't lose more. Keep up the great work.

Sometimes I think they just want you to take longer to get to lifetime-- more money for WW!!!!!!

This is also probably true, they DO make money, don't they? But seriously, I also think the 'no more than 2 lbs per week' thinking is sound. It IS supposed to help you keep the weight off. After 45 weeks, my average per week loss is 1.57 lbs, so warnings or not, overall I'm right where they want me. ;)

We'll see about maintenance though.

I am happy to report that I am down another 3 pounds this week!!!!! That brings me to a total of 23.8 pounds in 13 weeks!!! YEAH ME!!! Only 1.2 pounds to my 25 pound clippie.

Yeah Teresa!!!! Not only will you get your 25 lb clippie, but a magnet from WW, too! (or are you online only?) I have my magnet on my wall next to my desk at work. The home fridge is too cluttered and randomly rearranged by my 4 year old!
