Glad to see everyone doing fine for the first week of the new year!:yay:

WI was yesterday and Im still maintaining.I have 1 week to go for Life Member.
DH lost the bet... He bet me I couldn't maintain thru Christmas and New Year. I said I would and if I DID he would have to join.

Welcome DH to WW !:rotfl2:

On with our challenge...

How great for you maintaining over the holidays, that is super. Lifetime is right around the corner now, you should be so proud of yourself.

And best of luck to DH as he begins his journey!

I am sorry I can't welcome everyone as time is short this time of the month for me, but I am so very happy to see so many new folks (and returning folks) join our thread....the more the merrier!!! Here's hoping everyone had a good weekend and that your week will be an OP week.

Didn't do too well in December as I kept gaining and losing the same pound. Started new on January 1st with the Biggest Loser challenge and I'm happy to report I'm down 1.5 pounds at my first weigh in of the new year!

Great job tubachick adn WDWlover! The holidays are so difficult. Any loss is great, 4.2 is amazing.

I hope I do as well as both of you at my 1st weigh in on Wednesday.

Barracuda, life member is only in my dreams. That is amazing. COngratulations.

Hello to everyone else. I hope you all have a great week.

Gretchen

Good morning fellow WWers.

I am down 1.2 this week, and am trying to be happy about it, but am kicking myself for my junk food binge sunday, and snacking yesterday. I exercised 5 days this week, and I'm sure that is why I lost anything. Today is a new day and a new week and I am going to journal every darn bite I take.

tubachick- Congratulations!!!!! :cool1: 4.2 pounds is awesome!!!!

WDWLVR-Congrats on your loss!!! :thumbsup2 Weigh to go!!!!

Zoesmama03-Welcome back to WW and wish. Sounds like you're on the road to success. Good luck with ww and the rest of your classes.

Hope you're all having a wondeful, on track week!!!
We can do this!!:cheer2:

After a brief break from WW, I started back and went to my first weigh in today. I was really close to goal last June, but then plateaued for a long time (all fall), then I had two minor surgeries and of course, the holidays, and dh and my birthdays all at the same time! I just decided to not even think about my diet or WW for that time--about 2 months--then get back on it in the new year. So here I am. :goodvibes

I will be back to this thread next week with a loss. :thumbsup2

Congratulations chirurgeon and jakenjacksmom on your awesome losses this week!!!! Those 3 and 5 pounds is wonderful!!!!:cool1:

chamonix- Welcome back!!! And with an awesome attitude too. We'll see you next week with your loss!!!

Have a great losing day!!

just back from WW...down 1.2 lbs. Again, while I'm grateful it's not a gain I am dissappointed. I really was careful about what I ate this past week...I never use the weekly points and I worked out 6 times between meetings. I thought it was going to be more. I can't figure out if I'm doing something wrong or what's going on.

going to weigh in tonight, I feel good, but we will see :3dglasses

cepmom-- every little bit counts!! When I get stuck I stwich up my food a little, I tend to get in a rut and sometime the different combination of foods helps or different exercise will help too. Good Job on the additional 1.2!!

Congratulations chirurgeon and jakenjacksmom!!!

I'll keep you posted

I wonder if you are eating enough points. It sounds like you didn't any flex points, and no activity points, but worked out 6 times this week. I've heard others say, and I have noticed that I lose more when I used most of my flex points for the week. You body may need more calories, and if it's not getting enough, it goes into starvation mode and tries to conserve energy and slows down your metabolism. Could you also be retaining some fluid this week? Hang in there. 1.2 lbs is a good weekly loss. Hope next week is better for you.

hmmmm...perhaps. I feel like I'm eating a lot, but still staying within my daily points (22) Here's what I ate yesterday:

breakfast:
banana 2 pts
Kashi bar 2 pts

lunch:
salad with feta cheese 3 pts
1/2 tsp oil .5 pts
vinegar 0 pts
Fiber One bar 3 pts

snack:
pear 1 pt
Quaker rice cakes 1.5 pts

dinner:
WW Balsamic Chicken 4 pts
baked potato 3 pts
broccoli 0 pts

dessert:
WW lemon cake 1 pt
mini bag fat free popcorn 1 pt

the WW chicken recipe calls for four, 4 oz pcs of chicken and says it serves 4,but then says the points are 3. I thought chicken was 1 pt per oz? So that would make it 4 pts for a 4 oz serving of chicken right? I counted it as 4 pts instead of 3.

thanks to everyone for the support!! And congrats to everyone for your weight loss! :woohoo: :cheer2:

Uh, 1.2 lbs is just right. You are supposed to lose about 1-2 lbs a week on weight watchers. You are right on! When you lose at that rate your body can adjust better to the weight loss, your more likely to lose it from fat rather than muscle, you'll have less of those saggies you get from too fast of weight loss, your more likely to have enough food to get the nutrient your body needs, and your less likely too gain it back/have weight flucuations. Remember WW is not supposed to be a 'diet' to lose fast and get it over with, but a lifestyle change that you can do for the rest of your life to be healthy always!

I guess I am just used to the higher weight loss the first several weeks. Each week it gets less even though I am being more conscientous now than I was then.(In the first few weeks I did eat some things I shouldn't have...holiday cookies etc)

I forgot to let you know how my first week went. I weighed on Tuesday and was down to 205.4 lbs. 5.4 lbs for my first week back. Not bad.

I went to my first weigh in on Wed. and lost 1.6 pounds. This is my first time on weight watchers and I am wanting to lose 19 pounds. I have MS and am on steroids frequently....over the past five years, I have gained about 25 pounds.

Jan

Great job Jan!! I have a friend who has to take steroids frequently and I know it really is hard on her as far as weight loss is concerned.
