WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

I haven't posted on this board for quite a while. Forgot how much I loved reading about everyone's successes. Truly motivating.

This week-end will be my 1 year anniversary of joining WW, and I hope to be at goal, with a total weight loss of 54 pounds. It's been a great journey, and I think the hard part is next...keeping it off. Luckily, my husband joined WW in January and has a ways to go before he makes goal, so it will be not be so hard since I will still have a partner in weight loss.

I am enjoying all the new clothes that I had to buy. Down from a size 18 to a size 8, plus all the compliments from people that I have not seen in a while. Once all the excitement dies down, it will just be me and the scale, and a lifelong commitment to keep the weight off. I fully intend to keep going to the meetings on a weekly basis.

To all that have just started the journey, have faith. You can do it. This was my 4th time joining WW, but I made the full commitment this time, and nothing was going to deter me from reaching goal. You will have some ups and downs (downs being good in this case), but just keep your eye on the prize. WW DOES work, and as they say, it is not a diet, but a way of life.

Hope everyone has a losing week.

Happy Friday!!

I am down 1.4lbs this week:banana: I have 1.7lbs to make it to my next goal. Aqua aerobics will start up at the park June 22nd, so I'll be adding that to my exercise. Right now I am mostly doing the Leslie Sansone DVD's. I have quite the collection, which is funny because they are basically the same thing:rotfl:
The end of the month I will start officially training for the Disneyland 5k that is happening Labor day weekend. I want to at least be able to keep up with my niece and brother, my nephew runs track in high school so I know he will smoke us.

Have a great weekend!!!:cheer2:

Way To Go Everyone! I weighed in yesterday morning and was down 1.6 pounds. Didnt hit my 10 pound weight loss like I wanted to, but I am going to step it up a notch and make it for next week! I have been eating alot of chicken lately and I thought I would share my fav way to prepare it. All I do is take frozen boneless chicken breast...sprinkle it heavily with Accent seasoning and lemon pepper seasoning on both sides. I add a lil bit of olive oil in the pan and it comes out soooooo good!!! yum!

Congrats to Nancy: you are my inspiration. Thaks for keeping this thread active with your words of encouragement!!

Leanne2255: Congrats to you also. What a great year for you!!

To everyone else, great jobs!

I'm easing back in (again). Restarted WW last week after ignoring the program for several weeks. I'm not sure why I sabotage myself, but it has been my pattern. Anyway, I was down 1.5 pounds the first week, so I am happy.

Hope everyone has a great week.

I'm going to join this thread. I rejoined WW yesterday. I have done it before with much success, but of course, let myself go. I am still down 20lbs from my highest weight.

I need to get back on track now for myself and my kids. As of yesterday I was at my exact prepregnacy weight (DS#3 is 8 weeks old). So now, I need to get my butt in gear.

I have 70lbs to lose to get to WW goal.

Week 1 off to a good start. Hubby is supporting me, but unfortunately he has never had any luck with WW and when I cook for him to follow. He likes atkins, so we have 2 different diets going in the house. It's easier in the summer, because I can have him grill up steak for himself and chicken or fish for me. I don't mind making different veggies, as I don't prefer ones he can have.

I am going to Disney in October for my 34th birthday. I would like to try the TOT 5k marathon. I have never thought of doing anything like this before. Even if I walk/jog it, it would be a huge accomplishment for me.

Welcome!!

Leanne, congratulations! Hearing stories like yours is such a great motivation to keep going!

Just wanted to say HI! :flower3:

I joined WW at work 5/28/08 - at my ultime heaviest. And have since lost 58 pounds!

Today is weigh in, and I hope to see under the 200 pound mark!

I am going to join my local WW tomorrow. I am the heaviest I've ever been (not pregnant ) and tired of it. I counted points a few years ago on my own (bought the books from eBay) and had really good success. Two children later doing it on my own isn't working. I'm not obese, but I'm not at a decent weight either. I'm really upset that I've left all this baby weight on for so long. Anyway, I've never been to a real meeting before so I'd love any first time you visit stories you can share. I'll post back in tomorrow after my goal is set! Thank you for any support -- I'll need it :thumbsup2

I'm glad I found this thread. I joined WW on June 1, and I'm down 7.6. I lost 3.2 my first week and 4.4 at this week's weigh in.

A little about my history:

I've always had a weight problem, and it's only gotten worse over the years. Seven years ago my mom died after 20 years of diabetes related complications. I decided I didn't want my son to watch me slowly die over 20 years like I did her, so I joined WW. I joined at the end of August and by spring break I was down 45 pounds. I felt great! I went on a WDW vacation with my son, and I decided to not worry about points on the trip. That's all fine and good, but once I got back, I never got back into going to meetings. Over the course of the next two years, I gained back all my weight plus some.

After exploring other options, I decided to have lap band surgery in June 2004. I did great and lost 90 pounds. I had all the fluid removed from my band for my pregnancy in 2005/2006. After I had my son, I started gaining weight because I didn't go back for a fill for a long time. In 2007 I finally started going back for fills with a new doctor (my initial surgeon didn't have a good bedside manner to put it mildly). Everything was going great, and I was losing again.

My dad had a stroke and was in the hospital for 3 weeks on a vent. His wife and I had made the decision to take him off the vent as soon as all the family could come one last time. The day before that was supposed to happen, I started feeling sick to my stomach as I was getting off work. I thought at the time I was getting a stomach virus. Now I think my body was just responding to what was going on and what was about to happen. I threw up for 2 days, and my band slipped out of place. When that happens, you can't get anything down, not even water. I was severely dehydrated and had to have emergency surgery to remove the band. My dad died two days after I got out of the hospital.

Since the removal of my band, I've gained back all the weight I lost plus about 10 pounds. I've been trying to just "cut back," but it never lasts very long. This spring I started having blood pressure problems, and I knew this was the time I had to get serious. I decided to join WW as soon as school got out as I think it's a great program and good success on it before as long as I went to the meetings. So far, so good!

Congratulation on your decision! I am doing the online programm because I find it difficult to arrange my life around meetings, but I think they are a great tool to provide support!! Just as this thread!! :thumbsup2

A little about my history

Hi ms.yt! Welcome to this thread, I have found it to be a great support - especially when I had a time when I was not loosing any weight despite keeping to my points. It is always a great motivation to see that there are people who reach their goal - and manage to continue to eaat healthy.

Thank you for telling us your story, it really sounds like you are prepared to make a change in your lifestyle! And I think that is the way that WW can be successful. I have become a much more active person than I was before I started it and am really enjoying that! Last Friday evening I even did go for a run just because I was a bit bored! :scared1:

I had my weigh in today and I am down 1.3 pounds! :cool1: I am really happy with that! Yesterday I was wearing my best pair of trousers at work - and decided that that was the last time: they don't look elegant any more, they just are too big!! :thumbsup2

Leanne- what a journey! I love that you are doing so well, this program can work longterm!

You can do it!

As long as you are going int he right direction you are on the right path! Good job!

I hear you on the sabotage, I am guilty of it too and honestly, this thread is helping to keep me "honest".

I'm going to join this thread. I rejoined WW yesterday. I have done it before with much success, but of course, let myself go. I am still down 20lbs from my highest weight.

I have 70lbs to lose to get to WW goal.

you have so much to be proud of! It is especially hard if you are trying to manage two life styles and food plans. I confess that I could not do it. My poor husband is eating most of what I cook because I am not organized or disciplined enough to feed him differently than I cook for me. He is supportive and as he was trying to encourage my oldest son he said "Hey, I am on a diet too, and don't even know it. Your Mom cooks and I just eat all of that cardboard." Yes.......he is a man who has never had a weight problem and thinks that high fiber means Tony the Tiger cereal ;).

Keep your eye on that prize and you will get there !

I am going to join my local WW tomorrow.

I was a little afraid to go to my first meeting. I was heavy, sluggish and thought that I was going to fail miserably. I honestly went only because my DD bought me a monthly pass so that I would at least last one month. The leader was wonderful, she never said "Welcome back......again" so that was a plus :lmao:

Anyway, the members are all there for the same reason you will be there and in my meeting they all shared a lot. I was with my DD and DDIL and they talk so this was a lively meeting. I decided that if I was going to keep going I was going to participate and I made sure to get there early and to talk to people, and that was the start of one more level of support.

WE shared email addresses and when one gal was slipping she sent a message to DD, and that started the daily "How are you doing?" poss, Tip of the Day... as well as water and meal updates.

I would encourage you to go with an open mind and an open heart. Participate from Day One. Share each week, the positive, the not so positive and the "Ugly".

Now :wizard: to you!

Better that a scale victory! :cheer2:

Tonight is a meeting and I am going to at least WI. I need to in order to see how I am doing, and I have not been very disciplined this past week. I have a little cushion to still be in my range but I need to not use it. I feel good here and am still so afraid that I will slide back to the bad habits I have had for so many years.

Thank you everyone! I need this support to continue what I am doing... Hitting a little hump, bump in the road :)

Crikey....I see I haven't posted in a while!

This past WW week, I lost another pound...but just this morning I hit my first 5% goal! :woohoo: I'm averaging 1.62 pounds per week and that's with very limited exercise.

Time to step up the exercise and start WALKING. I have a vacation in 11 weeks to WDW and I need to be able to actually 'do' the parks instead of just walking from bench to attraction to nearest bench to show to bench to lunch......:lmao: Anyway, with the same rate of loss, I can be down another 17 pounds by trip time.

.

Did not make goal at my meeting on Saturday, but I am soooooooo.. close. Was down only .2 lbs. The leader said that my goal weight is probably the right one since my body seems to want to hang on to this last 1/2 pound. I'll keep in there until I reach that number. I have come too far to give up now.

(Besides, I want to get my 55 lb clippie)

Have a losing week everyone!

So, my big first day at WW was kind of a bust. The very nice receptionist basically talked me out of joining :rotfl2:! Actually, she was being very kind and told me about the one month pass (whatever it's called) that you can buy online and explained how it is a much better deal. So she sent me home to register (I couldn't use their computer to sign up for some reason) and then I'm supposed to come back with my pass. Kind of a downer after I was all in high gear to begin today, but it was very nice of her. So I guess I'll try my best to monitor myself this week and then go for it again next week!

that's crazy!! I wonder why she couldn't sign you up for the monthly pass right there in the center????? What area (of the country) are you in? In my area (MA) we can sign up for the monthly pass right there and it's the same price as online ($39.95)
