WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

I had my first real shopping trip today for the first time since I started this new lifestyle. Minus an item here and ther, up until now I've been wearing clothes already in my closet or borrowing from my sister. and I am excited to say that I have gone from a size 20 to a size 10 jeans!   the moment was kind of lost of my husband since he doesn't understand woman's sizes (although, who does, really?), so I had to share it with you all. thanks for letting me share my excitement.

happy Thursday everyone!
Rachel

Wow!! That is awesome!! I've gone from a 22 to a 20 and I thought that was exciting. Except I haven't really bought any new clothes. I think I have about every size under the sun! I'm sure that I'll never get to a 10 though. Even when I was "skinny" I wore a 12 in most clothes. I always joked that my bones were a size 12!

:cheer2::cheer2: That is a wonderful non scale victory!

You are right about husbands.... mine thought he was being supportive when I lost .2 with "What are you doing wrong?" :headache::headache::headache: He will never make that mistake again, I discussed female physiology and monthly weight gain, after forty body changes, etc....He was :scared:

He meant that I had had more noticeable losses at first and the .2 seemed like something was wrong. I appreciated his effort to "help" but......

I started WW almost a year ago finally lost 40 # and have managed to gain back 15 I am now back on the wagon, so to say. And this time am exercising along with watching and recording food. I am not ready to give up on this I need to be healthy and happy, I still need to lose 10# 8 more times to be at goal so if it takes me 2 years I am here for the long haul.

Thanks for listening.

Welcome! We can listen anytime you want to share.

I like it!

Congratulations! That is so great:dance3:

OH NO. So I'm on 'simply filling'... and have to go to a dinner party tonight.

For the week, I've used 13 of my 35 points, so I think I'm ok... but at this dinner party, here's the menu:

for the appetizer:

bruschetta and crackers
antipasto plate (cheese and salami)

for dinner:

Crab Cakes, Steak (both with sauces), gingered carrots, green beans, rice (not the healthy kind... made with butter and junk),

for dessert:

blueberry pie

:scared1:

And it's one of those parties where everyone's going to be like ''try this, try that, want more?"

:headache:

I guess I don't get any more 'freebie' points after tonight...

I know how you feel....DH's family parties are always like that :sad2:
I try to fill up with healthy things before hand, like salad etc. That way I'm not starving when we get to the party and scarf down everything in front of me haha. If you're not hungry when you arrive, a few bites of the least damaging items will be okay. Keep drinking water or seltzer all night too; that will help keep the bad stuff out of your mouth! Good luck! These things are always so challenging.

I guess I'm most worried about making my MIL feel bad. She's going through SO MUCH WORK. and I don't want to look like I'm not enjoying her food and stuff... ACK! Maybe I'll just suck it up and eat the food- but leave leftovers on my plate. Fill up on the veggies, and eat half or a few bites of everything else. UG....

Good luck, it can be so hard. I walked into work today and there was a thing of chocolate chip cookies sitting in the middle of the table. Considering I work for Bariatric surgeons its amazing the amount of junk we have.

I was dying to get a cookie but I knew that if I had a bite I would overindulge. I ended up eating my lunch early and going for a walk during my lunchtime.

oh thank you so much! I can't tell you how much I appreciate that.
Have you gotten to start your training yet? I can't wait to hear how it goes!

congrats to you too! going down a size is always exciting and certainly nothing to sneeze at. it's a great way to see how far you are coming, especially when it doesn't seem like the scale is cooperating. I don't think I ever wore a size 10; it's like I developed hips and a butt overnight and shot from kids sizes to 12... :rolleyes1 I never really thought I'd get this far either, so don't sell yourself short! Keep up your good work!

well, good job putting him in his place. poor guy probably didn't know what hit him. :lmao: my husband understands more than most b/c he's in the medical field and he's lost about 51 lbs in the last 2 years. of course he has his moments; one of the catalysts that started me on WW again was he realized he only weighed 5 more lbs than I did and mentioned that was his goal to weigh less than me. :scared: needless to say that didn't happen. he still eating my dust. :thumbsup2

Congratulations! That is so great:dance3:

thank you!

I hope it went alright!

good job! that deserves a bravo sticker (or would if we were at a meeting....) I need to do this more often. It's amazing how many points I waste on food that is only ok.

It's Friday! :woohoo: hope everyone has a great weekend.!

oh thank you so much! I can't tell you how much I appreciate that.
Have you gotten to start your training yet? I can't wait to hear how it goes!

yes, I started training last week. I'm following a woman that is training me to some of her meetings. I've been to an at work meeting twice and to a WW center once. I'm going back to the WW center to learn the computer training again on Saturday, When I went last week, the computers were down so I had to learn paper tally....it was very confusing! Then when I went to the at work meeting this week, the meeting room was being used by another group and we had to quickly figure out how to improvise.

My mentor was so apologetic about the training so far, but I think it's great....it is showing me how I can improvise under certain situations and still get the job done. When things go how they are supposed to it will seem like a piece of cake!

I still have a way to go; doing online training also and I just found out last night I have a staff training next Friday where I have to weigh in :scared: I have been struggling off and on to stay on program for months....I think it will help me to stay OP knowing that I need to weigh in next week. I only wish I knew about it before I ate a bunch of choc chip cookies yesterday afternoon :headache: ;)

I had my weigh in this morning. I am down 1.6lbs. Now my goal this weekend is to write everything down. I tend to not track the points on the weekend and end up eating way too much.

I am so excited I just joined this week. Now I want to be a part of this group! So far I am finding the plan easy to follow but dinners are a challenge for me. Due to the busy mom schedule with work and sports, we probably only cook meals 3-4 times/week. The rest is left overs, out to eat or make some sandwiches quick. I have a picky eater to throw in the mix. What are some good recipes to share? I prefer to try recipes people have tried and recommended. I'll bet you all will have some great ones to share with me.

Wow....I cant believe its taken me this long to find this thread. I usually hang out on the budget boards, but in search of some motivation for dieting I thought I would check this board out. Ive read through several threads and you guys ROCK! I started WW in 2003 and lost 35 lbs. Ive since had 2 children that are 2 and 4 and am 5 lbs away from my original lifetime goal. Ive been here for about a year. I just cant seem to lose the last 5 lbs. My motivation for journaling starts out great in the morning right till about 2pm when my youngest goes down for a nap. Next thing I know, between then and bedtime, it all goes out the window. I really need to stop the snacking!!!! I havent been to meetings in quiet some time and I realize after reading so many success stories how much I am missing the motivation that comes out of them. Thanks everyone for sharing your successes and struggles. Tomorrow is a new day! Ive brushed my teeth so NO MORE EATING TONIGHT for me!

Thanks for that picture. Really wants you to hit the gym.

Welcome to all our new posters. This is a great group to post with, so motovating and always ready to leand an ear when food takes over and points seem to fly out the window.

I am still waiting for spring. Won't be here soon enough for me.

Hey everyone! After reading through this thread last night I felt really motivated at the gym this morning. I put in a good solid hour of cardio and have been tracking my points so I feel great. I realized today that I want to lose 5 lbs, but whenever I lose a pound or two, I still have it in my head that I want to lose 5 more lbs. I really need to look at my successes and count those few lbs I loose instead of pushing my goal further away everytime I get closer. Have a good day everyone!

Happy Saturday!! I weighed in this morning and was down 3 lbs!! yay! I am finally over the 10 pound mark. I am officially down 10.8!!

Hello everyone!
I have just caught up reading from this past week. Congratulations on everyones' successes! Wow, I think that picture of the five pounds of fat gives enough incentive to keep me going for a while!
Well I was down 1.6 this past week which has brought me to 15, so I was pretty happy with that.
Good luck to everyone during this next week, at least it's starting to feel a bit more like spring here in Massachusetts!
