Hi everyone --

First, congrats to the losers. Went to my first meeting yesterday (restart #4) and the leader led a really interesting discussion about accountability. He said (and I agree) that one of the best ways to keep a goal is to make yourself accountable by sharing that goal with others. Then he challeneged everyone in the room to set a short-term goal and tell it to someone. I thought about telling my husband, but in the name of being "helpful" and "supportive" he can be a little overbearing. So, if you guys don't mind, I'm telling y'all instead. I came up with two goals:

1) To plan my meals and journal every day from now until the end of the month.

2) To lose two pants sizes by Memorial Day.

Wish me luck! :thumbsup2 Everyone have a great week!

Hello All!!!

I'm back! So my 2 weeks of noooooo tracking or counting or having any access to any part of WW is now behind me. I went into it hoping to just not gain, given that I wouldnt be tracking, and it also would be christmas and new years in there too, but kind of expecting a little gain... Well, I'm so happy to report that I actually lost about 2 and a half lbs!!! :) I was so excited about this! :)

So now I am back, happily back OP and tracking everything! Just thought I would share, hope everyone else is doing well! :thumbsup2

I know exactly how you feel. Good for you for getting back to the gym. Laser tag sounds like fun. What age would you reccommend that? There is a place nearby that I bet my son would love to go to. Happy new year, and Happy birthday!! Enjoy your celebrations. That exercise will definitely help counteract you splurges.

Kathy, I would say the youngest that I saw at Laser Tag was about 8 years old, I actually think that is the guidelines they follow. It really is fun and I think you can burn some calories doing it.

I'm beginning to feel like the end is actually in sight for getting to goal. Then the hard part starts with maintaining the loss.

I actually think maintaining is harder then getting to goal, if that makes sense. When you are losing you are goal oriented, but once you get there you no longer have a goal in your sights. But being at goal feels good and that right there helps motivate you to stay true to yourself (with the ocassional backslides).

Congrats on your holiday loss, that is fantastic.

As for me, I had gained 12 pounds since Halloween, I was a train wreck waiting to happen over the holidays and I indulged, the funny thing about it all is I felt awful, my body was not liking what I was doing to it. Finally last Sunday I got back to program, my body is feeling better and so am I. I am down 3 pounds, only 3 more to get back to goal and 8 more to get where I am most comfortable.

Congrats to all of our losers and BIG {{{HUGS}}} to anyone struggling.

Onward and downward!!!:wizard:

Does anyone have points, etc for some of the counter service options at Disney? We are doing one character meal, the princess meal at Norway, and I know my options there. I am only 4 weeks into WW (hit the 10 lb mark this past week!!) and don't want to get de-railed when I go do Dis next week!!

I need suggestions too...I am already packing almonds (12 = 2 pts), Fiber One bars (2 pts), 94% fat free micro popcorn (5 cups = 1 pt). I feel like I can handle my snack planning (oh, I will buy baby carrots when I get there...we are making a grocery store stop the first night).

Help!!!

Thanks everyone!

I do not have any tips on the POINTS at the park, but will we interested to see the responses as we are going this summer.

I just wanted to say congratulations on your 10 pounds loss to date!

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting on this thread. Is anyone doing WW online? After having done the meeting method 4-5 times over the last 20 years, I decided to do the on-line version this time. I just finished my first week and so far so good.

I think part of maintaining is going to meetings. We attend with several lifetime members but only one has maintained. She is at our meeting every Monday. Once we reach the goal we have to keep teh motivation level high and looking to be accountable at meetings is one more layer of protection.

I know what you mean by your body feeling better. I ate crazy though th eHolidays and I realized I felt awful. It is scary to think that we went through so many years feeling like that and it was normal. I am glad that we know what it feels like to feel good.

Kudos on your weight loss!

I did not do well OP in Disney so I cannot help with that. I would suggest that you keep your water up though, I did not and I think that I ate more because of it.

Welcome! I am interested to know how the online works for you.

heatherfeather24 - good luck!

KGH - congrats! Hope you had a great vacation!

tiggerlover - congrats for getting back to it and not letting it get worse. and :woohoo: on the 3 lbs!

iluvdiscruises - I don't have the points values but I did find this website http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm that shows menus (sorry, I can't remember how to make it an active link). Maybe it can help you plan a little bit with the assistance of WW website or a complete food guide?

Also, what about taking sugar free gum, mints and tootsie roll pops (1pt) to keep you occupied and/or for something sweet. Good luck!

Donald is #1 - welcome! I am doing the meetings, but I'm really interested in how WW online works for you! I don't know anyone who has done it.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I weighed in today and I was down another pound, bringing my total to 37 lbs gone for good :cool1: Well, I say that, but my husband and I are talking about starting to try for kids later this year. But that's something I'm happy to gain weight for. At least I would be better prepared nutrition wise. Ok, sorry, I'm rambling! Happy Sunday everyone!

Rachel

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Had my weigh in today and I loss 4.6 lbs!!! I was expecting 2 1/2. I will admit that I wore heavier clothes last week, but regardless I had a great week following the plan. I hope everyone else is having success!!!

Michelle

slightly_obsessed and michellebriana, congratulations on your loses this week!

I'll let everyone know how on-line ends up working for me. My weigh-in day is actually Monday, but the one week point was last Friday. I think that I was done about 6 lbs the first week. I am still trying to figure out how I want to split up my points at during the day. There were a couple days last week where I ended up with 2/3 of my points left at supper time. I am getting adjusted though.

I'll let you know tomorrow how my first full week weigh-in to weigh-in goes.

Hey! My suggestion would be to check out the menus online (allears.net has prety updated info for most counter service and table service places)

you can get a feel for the menu items, and look up points values vefore hand.

Also, many counter service places have "healthy" sides you can subsistute instead of fries and chips... go with the apple slices and grapes when ever they are offered! Final tip would be to overload on water...

Good luck and have fun! :thumbsup2

Donald is #1-

I am doing the program online. I've been at it for a little over a month, and so far I am loving it! The message boards over at ww are really helpful. :)

Hello fellow WW's

I had a really good week. My WI on friday I was down 1.4.:cool1:

Keep up the great jobs everyone is doing.

:welcome: WISH is a great place for support, motivation and ideas.

I have done WW online and been very successful, the only thing I didn't care for was the discussion forums, I feel the meetings are more beneficial. But what it boils down to is what fits into your lifestyle and works for you.

I think meetings are beneficial too, you really get the support that helps you keep going. Also, every now and then I have been known to learn something new. It is scary to think when we were overweight that that awful feeling was our norm, but it is so gratifying to know that I know that feeling, hate that feeling and refuse to let myself stray too far. It is the memories of what was that finally stopped me in my tracks.

michellebriana, tink1963 and slightly_obsessed, congratulations to each of you for your weight loss this week.

.2 this week... better than nothing!!

So now here's a question-- I do WW online, and it's very vague about the new Momentum plan-- is it CORE or Points?! I'm so confused!!! :confused3

Can anyone explain the new plan to me??

Momentum is Points with focusing on Core foods. The core foods are now called Simply Filling Foods. There is the Simply Filling Technique which is the new name for Core. So if you were doing core, you can do the simply filling and choose that online.

KadysMom is right on, Momentum is just the best of the two programs, focusing on the Core food choices, but giving you the flexibility of flex. It is just a smarter way of eating.

I had my first Biggest Loser weigh in yesterday and in addition to the 3 pounds I posted that I lost, I lost an additional pound for a total last week of 4 pounds. So four pounds of holiday eating gone.....eight more to go!!

Onward and downward!!
