I got a surprise last night at WI. I was up .4! not down like I wanted. I was disappointed, I was OP all week long, took walks and watched my portions. Next time I am having that glass of wine!
tiggerlover- I am working on Thanksgiving. We talked about it in the meeting last night and it was scary! Even though we all follow CORE the desserts were wicked!
I am planning to lighten up the traditional sides that we will have like the stuffing and gravy.
The veggies will be CORE mostly and I will make some desserts. I will post my menu when I finish working it out if you want. WE can compare notes.
Our leader said to look out for the day after Thanksgiving, it is worse than the actual day. I bet she is right, I used to graze all day and then have leftovers for supper. Deserts lasted all weekend and into the beginning of the following week. This year will probably be the same with less in between nibbling, but more WW friendly foods so that I am not throwing my girls and myself under the bus.

Hang in there with that gain. I'm sure it is just some fluid, and if you stick with the program, you'll see it gone next week. It is very frustrating when we are on track, yet we still see a gain. I find that sometimes, I start to lose control then, figuring what the heck, I might as well deserve the gain, but then it becomes a true gain. Sounds like you have an awesome thanksgiving plan.
Has anyone come up with a plan for Thanksgiving to stay OP or are you giving yourself the day off?
My thoughts are to eat the white meat, lots of vegetables and choose only one starch (stuffing, potatoes or biscuit) and to limit the gravy. As for dessert I am going to bring a pumpkin pudding pie made with skim milk and FF Cool Whip so at least there is one dessert that wouldn't be so bad.
What are y'all doing?
I think I'm making the same pie. My family gatherings are typically full of high fat sides, and desserts. I'm planning to bring a ww friendly pie, and maybe your pumpkin praline cake or a trifle, and I'm making the squash. We always have a cheesy potato casserole, and green bean casserole, with the stuffing and turkey. My goal is to take a small portion of each, and stick with white meat, and not to have seconds. For dessert I'll have plan to have a couple small pieces of pie or some trifle. I am on call from 3-11 that afternoon, so the ideal thing for me would be if I got called in to work for a few hours, and totally missed either dinner or dessert. In the morning we usuallly go out to a breakfast buffet before the high school football game that my nephew plays in, so I'm going to go light on that, and stick with the scrambled eggs and fruit, and stay away from the meats. It is a pretty challenging day for me, and I will bring my tracker, and write everything down. I've found when there's lots of munchies out, it's a good time to play with the kids and get away from them.
Hey there! Is there room for one more here?
Let me introduce myself. After having two kids I found myself being about 60 lbs overweight. After I had my last DS in June of 07 I decided to join WW-followed it until I went on a cruise in March and lost 31 lbs. A month ago, I decided it was time to take off the rest of the weight. When I weighed myself I had gained 11 of the lbs back. Tried some unconventional methods for weight loss and lost 16 lbs over the course of the last three weeks but decided this just wasn't for me. So...here I am back at WW. Started on Monday and will go for my first WI on Saturday morning. So far so good!
So...that's my story. I'm down a total of 36 with 21 more to go. I hope to accomplish this by my next cruise in April. Hope to see you all around on the thread! Thanks to the OP for starting this.
Welcome and congratulations on your loss so far. You're doing great.
What kind of dessert are you looking for? I made a trifle with pumpkin angel cake and SF FF white chocolate pudding and Cool Whip free. It was really good.
If you want something different let us know, I'll check my files once I know what you are looking for.
that sounds great. What do how do you make the pumpkin angel cake?
She is absolutely right, I really need to get back to journaling and counting those points. I tried yesterday and made it all the way to dinner......and then I blew it. I haven't even thought of journaling today and the day is over. I need a push to get with it, I just don't know why I am having such a hard time these days!

Hi Deb. Sorry to hear you've been struggling. It is a life time thing though, isn't it. I think flex is definitely better when you are having a hard time, because it's more set in stone how much you can have, and you can have anything you want to get through the hard times. Hang in there. You've done so well to maintain, you can get back on track. I think to journal eveything, no matter how many points above your weekly allowance points you go, is key to getting back on track and staying there. Once I stop journalling, I go way overboard. Good luck.
hey everyone, I haven't had time yet to go back and read the last week or so (I will!), but congrats to all the losers and

to those who are struggling.
Plan wise for me it wasn't such a good week and I didn't get the exercise I'm used too... but I did get to cuddle with a baby. And my wonderful sister sent me back with some clothes to wear while I'm in transition so I don't have to buy new ones. She's wonderful
I weighed in yesterday and was down 0.6, which would be more disappointing, except I hit my 25 lbs lost mark

So I still got to celebrate, and I'm more determined for a good week to keep those lbs slipping off.
Happy Sunday everyone!
Rachel
Congrats on reaching 25 pounds gone!!! That is awesome. It must have been wonderful to snuggle with that little baby all week too,

and I'm sure your sister loved having a little rest while you were there. Babies are so wonderful.
I'm finding this time of year to be getting hectic and busy already, and I wish I had more free time to come here and respond more often. Congratulations to all who are losing, you are inspirational. And hugs to those struggling, have patience and hang in there. It will get better.
Have a great, losing day.
