WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

I found a recipe on WW etools for 0 point cabbage soup. It mkes 18 servings. I am going to make it this weekend and split it into individual servings and freeze them.
I also bought some of the WW creamy chocolate smoothies to help with my milk intake:)

Soup has been a lifesaver for me!

DH I started eating oatmeal in the morning salads at each meal lunch and dinner and I weighed in on Thursday 8/28 and I lost 7.4 pounds.  Needless to say I was doing the happy dance. It also helps I work with small children so I am taking care of them and meeting their needs 6 hours a day so I don't really think about food during that time. I also drank all my water too that really helped.

Congrats to you all for making better choices in your food.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: That is wonderful! I read that soluble fiber is really important in weight loss. I really did not know th difference between insoluble and soluble fiber, it was all the same to me but apparently soluble fiber binds to fat and sweeps it away resulting in a larger loss. I thought that I lost more when I stuck to oatmeal for breakfast, just as you are doing, and now I know why.

Holy cow Daisy 7.4!! That awesome!!
Are you eating instant or regular oatmeal? I:lovestruc oatmeal!

Yes, please tell me which oatmeal you use. I've been looking for a good low point one but if it results in a more steady and larger weight loss, I'll spring for the extra points at breakfast. Heck some nights I'll have it for dinner. :)

I use Quaker Oats and cook it myself. I add some splenda or SF maple syrup and pumpkin pie spice. I add some fruit, a banana or peaches. I also may add some Simply Smart milk.

Another oatmeal eater here and I wanted to recommend Quaker Instant Weight Control.. 1 packet is 3 points, but has 6g of fiber. It tastes almost as good as regular instant oatmeal. I am eating the maple and brown sugar, and since I like it sweeter I add a little Splenda and maybe a few sprays of the I Can't Beliieve It's not Butter Spray.

Oh and Daisy, WTG!!!!!!! What a great loss!

I eat the old fashion Oats. I microwave it and add applesauce to it. for a 1/2 a cup of oats with 1 cup of water it's 2 pts. I add the no sugar added applesauce cup so it's a total of 3 points. I am so busy after I eat the oatmeal I don't have time to go get a snack. I work with young children I think I have realized they have become my savior because they keep me from eating....LOL:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good! That's the kind I tried this morning and I felt full for a while. I will try it with the applesauce.

Your welcome. I also have tried with cinnamon and sugar but I use the splenda or a little bit of brown sugar too I have also added a small box of raisins too. But I like the applesauce the best.

 Hello everyone! I have missed my little support group this summer and I am glad to see that you all are keeping my thread alive and well. It looks like in glancing over some of the posts that you are all hanging in there and are a bunch of losers ;) -- this is one place where losers are welcome!!!

I hope you all had a great summer, I know mine has been long and busy and I am ready for school to start on Tuesday and get back to a regular routine. I have been up and down all summer with the same couple of pounds. I know it is because I was enjoying too many summer treats, but I figure this is life and I have to live it with the best choices possible. I am still 2-1/2 pounds under goal, but I like to be 5 pounds under for a cushion so I am back at Core and I hope to take off that 2-1/2 pounds in no time at all.

Best wishes to you all, I hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend.

Onward and downward!

How long have you been able to maintain? My family follows CORE so I am very interested in how you manage. Thanks for starting this thread, I am so glad I found it!

I am finding myself looking for things to have for dinner, and lunch...it is such a change to eat healthy!

I do have a bunch of smart food meals in the basement, just in case, but that leaves DH looking on his own! :lol

Our hospital serves home made oatmeal for breakfast. I am eating it with splenda and skim milk, then I have some bacon, when they have it, ( the last thing I need to give up, but not yet) ....and I eat soup and salad for lunch. Still keeping in my points.

I find I do better on the days I am home, then the days I am at work.

Tuesday is my meeting and my weigh in day. :fingers

DH and I went to Applebees for lunch today and I had their garlic chicken with baby red potatoes and brocholi off the WW menu and it was delicious. The chicken was a pretty big piece of chicken and I had about maybe 5 baby red potatoes cut and quarterd. I had a side salad with it. The Garlic chicken was only 7 points. It was so good.

Yum Applebees! I miss it. Wish we had one here.

The last few days I have been having salad with salsa for lunch. For some reason I love it! way better than drwoning my salad in dressing.

The lady who weighs me at my meeting told me she has a salad with salsa before lunch and dinner. Hopefully you like it. I am pretty sure salsa counts as a veggie serving too.

Nancy, I made lifetime 15 months ago following Flex, however, found I was in a rut in April of this year and changed to Core. For me, Core is easier, no counting points and lots more flexibilty. I liked Flex when I was doing it, it made me more accountable, but Core just seems to fit my lifestyle at the moment. How long have you and your family been doing Core?

Jovo, I too have a hard time with my meal planning sometimes, I just seem to get bored with the choices. I know what "works", but after a while I need some change. Today I made a huge pot of vegetable chili that I will portion out for lunches this week. Maybe you can try a new recipe on the weekend so you will end up with week day lunches?

daisy2, is that something new on the Applebees menu, I don't think I have ever seen that before. Sounds yummy! I love salsa and it is so versatile, you can use it on baked potatoes and omlets too. One of my favorites is Paul Newman's pineapple salsa, it is great!

Hi everyone! May I join y'all?

I've been doing WW for about 2 years now. I lost 30 lbs and made goal last year, but then I got to comfortable and gained 20 lbs back. :sad1:

So here I am again, at the "beginning" of my WLJ. I'd like to lose that 20 lbs again.

I follow Flex and I have never been to a meeting. I had always done WW Online. Now I just do the program by myself and don't pay WW for anything.

Over the years I've collected TONS of WW friendly recipes so I've got quite a few "husband-approved-tried-and-trues" that I can share. If you've got a craving, let me know and I'll see if I've got a recipe.

I wish everyone good luck! I'm excited to be able to get BOT with y'all!

Hello! I just found this thread and would like to give it a try!

I have been on WW since last Jan. I lost 20, but then gained 10 back in the last few months. :sad2:

But today is Monday, and the perfect day to start it up again.

I always have a hard time writing down what I eat, and I hear that if you aren't writing things down, then you aren't on a diet. When I don't write it down, I generally stop following my points and it's all downhill from there.

Does anyone have any tips for keeping track? I used to carry around a little journal, but when I'm out and about I don't always have it with me! :rolleyes1

I really want to lose 25-30 by the time we go back to Disney in March! :cheer2:

Tiggerlover, I tried Flex a long time ago and was way too good at manipulating the points so that I could get in my snacks. Needless to say I was not successful. Now I have been on CORE for about 20 weeks and have lost 20 pounds. I like it because either it is CORE or it isn't. Better for me all the way around.

Jovo- I make food ahead as well. I also made a big pot of chili today, not vegetable but with a lot more veggies than I used to use. I'll have that during the week with quinoa or brown rice or over a salad.I will also grill extra chicken or fish and have that for lunch over a salad. I will make soup as well so that I have something that can just be heated up. I use a lot of veggies in most of my casseroles, sauces, soups and chilis.
