WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Thanks so much for the great advice!!! I am going to make some changes this week.
Eeyore's Butterfly - I enjoyed looking at your journal - lots of great ideas!

I was down 4 lbs this week and was pleasantly surprised. I was hoping just to get to my first 10, but surpassed that. I upped the intensity on my exercises, so maybe that was it.

I usually get all my points in and rarely dip into the 35. I'm afraid of when my weight starts going down, I'll have less daily points, because sometimes, my daily allotment is not enough. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Let's all keep up the good work. I like coming to this board for additional inspiration.

Have a good week everyone!

I was down .5 which was a surprise. My skin was acting up and I knew sweating and swimming would aggrivate it...... as a result my sleeping and eating was erratic. I guess I wasn't so bad but there was lots of room for improvement.
I ate well this weekend. I guess half of the battle is awarness.
I have a new adjusted plan. Brown Rice is cooked in the fridge and fruit and veggies

Not great this week- .4 gain. But, I guess that's not HORRIBLE...

I haven't been sleeping well, and my sister doesn't think I'm getting enough calories- around 1300 a day, and I exercise for at least 30 min (cardio).

Kinda frustrating. :headache:

Hi there! I have been hanging around this forum and would love to join in. I have been going to WW for 13 weeks, longer than I ever lasted but I am determined this time.

Monday is my Weigh In and I lost 2.8 pounds this week. I was worried but feel better now. My family is following Core and it is working for us. I do eat most of my 35 points and have added a lot of whole grains into our meals.

I saw that someone mentioned brown rice in the fridge. We keep some kind of grain cooked and ready to add to our meals and typically cook extra so that we have food for lunches ready to eat. I would eat my shoe if there was nothing ready and I was hungry so this is a huge help.

Welcome to all the new members to the thread.

Nancyg56 - I have found that by having food that I can eat readily available then it makes it much easier to stay on program. I have a desk at work FULL of stuff I can eat and it's made a big difference.

Regarding the rice, I've found a brown rice that comes ready to just heat up in the microwave. Yes, it's more expensive but for me that is the only one that eats it it really helps. It's 6 points for the full container but I half it and add it to whatever I am eating.

toledo- how many point are you eating each day. Do you eat all you are allowed. 1300 should be more then enough if you are making wise choices throughout the day.

Hi all

well this week I was -0.2. Not bad, it's still a loss. I'm worried though that I won't reach my WDW goal. I gave myself 6 weeks to lose 10 lbs before our trip. So far I've lost 3.8 lbs total with 3 weeks to go. I've been drinking my water and trying hard to stay on plan but I guess I have to be realistic with camping and travelling it's hard to always guesstimate the points I'm consuming. I'm home this week so it's back to the old exercise plan and weighing my food out.

Congrats to everyone that lost and here's hoping for a better week for those who didn't.

:welcome: Nancym glad to have you on board. Congratulations on your loss this week, that is pretty good. Determination will bring you far in this journey, best of luck to you! I follow Core also and love it, I lost all of my weight on Flex, but find Core fits my lifestyle now that I am maintaining, I just love the flexibility it affords me. I buy the Minute Rice microwave single serving brown rice portions, 3 pts for Flex, free on Core. It may be a little more expensive, I don't really pay attention, but inside each package is a dollar off coupon so I figure it works out okay. I always have to have quick grabs in my fridge, especially when I am starving and trying to cook dinner, the quick grabs keep me from dipping into dinner before it is ready.

Congrats to everyone who lost this week, keep up the great work.

Onward and downward! :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Mary Anne and tiggerlover- I don't use the minute rice because I have found that I really like the brown rice found in some Chinese restaurants. My DD picks up some each week and we keep it. It is a little more expensive then the regular brown rice but like you, we disregard the price because it tastes so good.

My DD- kadysmom- grills chicken and steams some veggies on Sunday so that she is prepared for the week. My DDIL, pookiepotpie- is following with us so we all try to come up with a variety that we all enjoy. My DH is along for the ride but he eats what we eat and is feeling better.

I am envious that you have a chinese restaurant that has brown rice, I have yet to find one near me that offers brown rice. I am happy to see that some of the sushi places here are offering brown rice......I am a HUGE sushi lover and this really makes a big difference. I will keep searching the chinese places though, maybe one of these days the brown rice will catch on around here. But I agree, if something works, price is no object if it helps me along my way.

Thats what I did. I actually made enough to freeze it for next week. I do the same with pasta and hard boiled eggs. They are staples for me to make a meal. I am single and waiting for water to boil when I am hungry deters me.

:cheer2: :cheer2: CONGRATULATIONS NancyG56!!!:cool1: :cool1: (NancyG56 is my mom!)

We are all following core, and this week WI I lost 4.2. I am currently down 39.4, so I really want to hit my 40 pounds next week! I love reading about how everyone is doing because it gives me great motivation. I hope everyone has a great week!

:thumbsup2 Great loss for the week, congratulations.

I am glad to see so many more posters following Core and enjoying success!!

Keep up the great work.

Well, my two days off track cost me. I did not lose any weight this week. On the other hand, I did not gain either, and I am back on track today. My goals for this week are tracking every day, getting my two milks in, and having soda only once. By far, the soda will be the hardest. I've made it so far today and it wasn't as bad as I thought!

I tried something new for dinner the other night and it was really good and wanted to share it with my Core buddies. You could probably convert it to POINTS if you are doing flex, but I haven't calculated them.

Chicken and Zucchini Parmesan

First I made a homemade sauce - in a saucepan add 2 tsp. of olive oil and a large clove of garlic, crushed. Saute garlic, remove from heat and add 1 large can of Contadina crushed tomatoes to pan, 3 packets of Splenda and a little basil; simmer for 30 minutes.

For zucchini parmesan, clean and slice zucchini into rounds. In a glass baking dish add some sauce to the bottom and lay down zucchini in a layer, add a little more sauce and add a second layer if desired. Top with fat free mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with a tiny bit of parmesan if desired (the parmesan is not really Core, but the little bit you use isn't something that I count).

For the chicken parmesan, take thin chicken cutlets and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and top with sauce. Sprinke fat free mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake both pans in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

This alone is a meal for me, but if you need something more you can serve it with whole wheat pasta and some sauce.

Buon Appetite.

If anyone else has any Core recipes that are yummy, please share, I am always looking for something new that is good.

Thanks for the recipe! I have been watching Food Network Star and craving chicken parm. What a great way to enjoy it and stay on the program.

This recipe has been going around our weekly meeting and it is so good! I doubled it and thought that I would have plenty for one extra meal plus leftovers for lunch. Well we did have lunch one day but my DH and my DSIL loved it so it did not last.

Beef & Bulur Casserole
>
> 1.5lbs lean ground beef
> 1 large onion chopped (about 1 cup)
> 1 (14.5oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
> 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
> 1 c uncooked bulgur
> 2 c water
> 3 tbs fresh or 1 tbs dried parsley
> 2 tsp beef boullion granules
> 1.5 tsp salt
> 1.5 tsp fresh or 1/2 tsp dried oregano
> 1/4 tsp pepper
> 1/2 c grated FF or soy parmesan cheese
>
> Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook ground beef and onion in 10" skillet,
> stirring frequently, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in remaining
> ingredients except cheese. Pour into ungreased 2.5 quart casserole. Cover
> and bake about 45 minutes or until bulgur is tender. Stir in cheese.

Lost a lot of water weight yesterday...

I had plateaued on CORE- I was the same weight for 2 weeks! Yuck! So, I've switched plans. Please don;t hold it against me!! I've lost close to 15lbs on WW. However, I'm in a competition (think Biggest Loser), so losing lbs is the goal for the next 3 weeks!! I'm now on 'Combat the Fat', but would still like to report my loss here, if that's ok???

I say whatever works for you is best!!! A lot of times we need to change things up because our bodies get used to what we are eating and doing, so change is good!!!

Just wanted to add for those who took down the chicken parm recipe, I forgot one ingredient of the sauce and that was 3 Splenda packets. I went back and edited the original to reflect the change.

Nancy, thanks for the beef and bulgar recipe, I would like to give that a try. What is bulgar, I know it is a grain, is it similar to barley?

Just popping in to say Hi to everyone. Tomorrow is my weigh in day so I'm hoping for any kind of a loss.
