WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

2.8 lbs this week!!!!!! :cool1: This was my 2nd week on core, and working out with "Walk Away the Pounds". But I had a cold for 2 of the days and didn't work out... but I stuck with my Core plan, so it worked out for me! I haven't been eating all of the extra 35 points. The first week I think I only ate 11 of them, but this past week I was up in the 20's (went to a wedding...). Still going strong!

way to go! :thumbsup2 sounds like Core is working well for you! Keep it up!

WAY TO GO!! You guys ROCK!

Congratulations Toledo. I love the walk away the pounds tapes, and core is awesome too. You did great to stay within the 35 at a wedding too. :thumbsup2 I have a hard time at functions.

I did really well. They BBQ'd burgers and hot dogs and she had the fat free ones for us (she is doing WW too) and the low calories buns so I was able to enjoy the same food as everyone else. I didn't eat cake or any other snacks and tried to drink lots of water. The first thing I did when I got home was go straight to the freezer and have a skinny cow ice cream sandwich. I needed a little fix of my own
Awesome job staying on track. It's great to have the same foods as everyone else, just healthier versions.

Thanks for all the kind words... It really does help.

I wish I was an alcoholic.

okay. Not really, but... Maybe then I'd be able to walk away from my addiction without touching it again.

Food is so hard b/c it's EVERYWHERE. It's readily accessible. It's cheap. You can buy it 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There is no age restriction. etc. etc. etc.

I cannot live without what putting into my body the thing I am addicted too. I have to learn to manage it.

That Alone has been the most difficult thing to manage on my whole journey.

it helps to know i'm not alone.
You are definitely not alone. It would be so much easier if we could just not eat at all, but like you said, you need to eat, and it makes it so much harder. One day at a time, and we will get there. Do not beat yourself up, just pick yourself up, and figure what's done is done, and start fresh. Some weeks, I start fresh every morning, and by bed time, I'm out of control. It's so hard to stay on track every day.

I could have posted this too. I blew it yesterday
I did okay at the shower...not too many healthy choices but I did my best and had salad a small piece of spiral ham and a small scoop (really small)each of the cheesy potatoes and french toast casserole (sooooo good). I also munched on crackers and cheese. I also had some sort of punch with brandy in it.

At the birthday party I had salad and a small amount of pasta salad, crackers and dip.

I kept my water with me and drank as much as I could. Since I had no idea how many points this all added up to I went with the assumption that all my flex points were gone for the week.

I had to work at 5 and when I got home at 10 I was starving. So, instead of going to bed, I binged. Big time. Ugggg...I am so mad at myself.
Hang in there cepmom, and don't be so hard on yourself. You are only human, and we have all been there. Today is a new day, and you can start fresh. You will reach your goal, as long as you keep trying.

Congratulations to you, that is great! Core is obviously working well for you, how do you like it overall? I can't believe I resisted it for so long, I know I have said it before, but I am loving it.

Good for you!! Isn't it great when we can make little changes and still enjoy what everyone else is enjoying?

Speaking of hotdogs, has anyone tried the fat free Hebrew Nationals? Someone suggested them at my last meeting and I tried them and boy are they delicious!! (1 POINT a piece too).

Why do we do this to ourselves????? ANd I had been doing really well too. Crud.

:grouphug: Binges stink, but they happen, thank goodness for a new day....time to pick up and start anew.

They were talking about those fat free Hebrew Nationals at my meeting too. Everyone raved about them. I haven't seen them yet but a am on the lookout.

I saw them at the grocery the other day. I didn't buy them but now maybe I should have. When the ones I have now are gone which I think are Oscar Mayer I'll be sure to try them out.

For some reason I'm craving hot dogs now. Have to hit the store after work. They sound great.

Well, I weighed in at my meeting last night for the first time in a month. I was down .25 of a pound, which was better than I expected.

Now, I'm craving hot dogs too.

I have recently started WW, 5 weeks ago. While I am doing ok, I am thinking I didn't get "instructed" well when I started. At my first meeting, I figured my daily points but wasn't really instructed on what else to do. The leader showed us the before/after pics, talked about not a diet, a lifestyle change etc. Two weeks ago I started attending a different location meeting, it fits better in my schedule. But I starting to think I don't really know how to do the program. I know I must eat all my daily points. I know the guts about drinking water, fruits/veggies, etc but where I fall short are the 35 extra pts, activity pts--are we really suppose to use them??, healthy oils--not sure how to go about that. I just don't know about anything other than what I consider logical---more water/fruits/veggies/exercise.

Ok, after this long intro. here's my question, do you think it's ok to ask the new location leader to go through the 'first meeting' information to me?

I enter my info. at WW online also...is there somewhere there that walks you through it...like a "new to the program?, here's all the information you will need to understand the program and get you started".

Thanks for your help...just trying to get the maximum benefits from the program....Cheri

Hello and Welcome!!!

Most of the leaders "give" program after EVERY meeting and you are always welcome to stay.

A WHOLE lot of the information you pick up as you go (on the community boards on WW, here, talking with other members, etc...). Some of it isn't really cut and dry... What works for one member may not work for another.

If you have any specific q's -- PM just about anyone here, including me, tiggerlover, Grumpy's Wife, etc...

To answer some of your first q's -

1. The extra 35 points are there if you need them. You dont' have to use them, but if you want to you can (and still be "on plan.") for example, you go out to dinner and eat a whole plate of something you didn't plan on eating. Count it, take it out of your 35 points and move on.
2. Activity points. Most of the time, you don't have to use them if you don't want to but know that you body is consuming more calories, so your BODY may need them. It may take you some time to determine what your body needs. IF I am doing only moderate exercise, I rarely use them.
3. Healthy oils. 2 per day. only count as liquid oils. Canola, Olive, are 2 examples.

It sounds like you've got a lot of it already...

thanks for the info. I guess I was thinking the whole concept couldn't be that simple, but it makes total sense....now I just wish the willpower part of it came simple

Thanks again for your help...Cheri

Mik, once you have one of those hotdogs you will keep craving them, they were that good!

Congrats on the loss NCRedding, expecially if that was better than you expected!!

:welcome: cherio! Ms. Heimlich gave you some super information. Your WW leader is there for you so any questions or concerns you have should be something she (or he) would gladly assist with.

When it comes to the 35 flex points and activity points you really need to find what works for you. I had a friend that ate all 35 of her points and all of her activity points and still had nice weight loss; however, any time I did that the scale wouldn't budge. So what I found worked for me was to eat my 35 flex points or at least 3/4 of them and forget about the activity points, that combination is what worked. Every body type is different so everyone will have a different combination that works for them. It may take a couple of weeks of experimenting to see how it works for you. Another thing I think really aides in the weight loss is getting in your dairy each day, I am not a dairy person and on the weeks I got my dairy in I had better weight loss than when I didn't.

This is all about making a commitment to yourself and wanting to change your lifestyle and your health. With commitment and determination you can succeed and you have come to a great place to get the support you need to help you along your journey!

Welcome Cherio! The weight watcher program is a good one and most of the time when in doubt use common sense and at worst try and get on plan with the next meal. Onward and downward is a motto I've learned on this thread.

I had one of those what the heck am I going to eat on program lunches today. A business lunch in a place I never in a million years would have picked. Everything smothered in some kind of cream sauce. I did the best I could, had some kind of a carrot soup, I honestly don't think it was creamed but puree. And then crab cakes. I completely passed on desert (so yeah me!). Strange after eating all that I was more hungry in the afternoon the if I would have eating my usual WW salad, 2 oz of turkey, 1 bread, and a fruit or yogart lunch. I was looking for something but I remember I had put a sliced banana in the freezer at work, so I went and had that it it hit the spot. Cold, semi hard and sweet.

I balanced out the rest of the day with a WW oatmeal for breakfast and a veggie salad w 1 oz of Turkey for dinner. I'm going to have a WW yogart later so all in all I felt I had a good program day dealing with the challanges.

Hope everyone is having a good weigh in week.

I had a bad day yesterday. I don't know what came over me. :worried: I knew I wasn't staying on program and at that moment I didn't even care. That was the first day I had like that since I started WW in February. Today I feel horrible! New day, new outlook...........stay focused and on track!

 Today is a new day, so let yesterday go. 4 months on program is awesome, and one day off will not hurt you. You are doing great!!

Oh!

I have had several days like that. ITA with the Previous Poster. All we can do is FORGET ABOUT YESTERDAY and focus on today.

Another thought... Do you feel "beat your self up horrible" or do you feel "I ate like a pig at a trough horrible" -- Maybe the eating is contributing to the physical way you feel??

I find when I eat well, I FEEL well!!:)

Here's to a great day!:thumbsup2

Sounds like you handled that challenge very well. Good for you. Keep up the good work.

:welcome: cherio!! Ms. Heimlich and Tiggerlover have given you some great advice. I usually use most of my flex points, and will occassionally use the activity points. I have found, when I'm totally on program, that I lose more weight when I use more flex points, than when I try not to. I think some people need more calories for their metabolism. The program is great, and once you get to know it, it is very easy to follow. Good luck.
