WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

:welcome: pixiedust247, MA pigletfan and mouseaddicts!!! This is a super thread that has been going on for a very long time (notice this is part 2, the first thread got too large and was getting locked so we started #2), when you have the chance you may want to check out the original thread, there is some great information there.

I have been attempting to get back on ww for the last four weeks. I get focused stay within my points (20), work out consistently, and then I don't lose a pound. I get frustrated eat whatever, gain 2 or 3 pounds and then I get frustrated and then the cycle starts again. I am here for support and guidance ...I don't want to give up. I need to lose about 15 pounds to be at a healthy weight. It shouldn't take too long...but I need to be patient! Thanks for you help! @@@@ Stayed on points ALL week and I gained a pound! Can anyone shed some light on this? I did WW about 4 years ago and the weight just fell off with an average of 2 pounds per week. I know that I am "older" now and over the 35 hump but this is ridiculous!! I need some insight to what is happening!

pixiedust247, as others have inquired, are you eating all of your points? Are you eating any of your flex points or your exercise points? As silly as it sounds we need to eat (or fuel or bodies) in order to lose. If you are exercising consistantly and not eating those exercise points you will stay the same or see a gain. What I have found that works is eating all of my daily points, some of my flex points and all of my exercise points and drinking all of my water. I am interested to hear what you are doing. I know what you mean about getting "older", I noticed it when I hit 38 and now at 41 it is even harder, but persistence pays off, it just takes longer the older you get.

hello everyone!
I am hoping that its ok if i join you all here on this WW thread. I have been counting points for the past 3 weeks and I am sad to say that the lbs aren't falling off at all. i have def. been more active and staying on plan so i am BEYOND frustrated. I know that my body is getting more toned and some people have even commented that it looks like I have lost weight..its hard for me to say " actually no I have not lost any significant lbs, but thanks for being fooled "
I also belong to another great WISH thread here, the Peeps...but I really wanted to join in on a WW one to get some tips, share some info and just find some more support on what sometimes feels like a never ending journey...

MA pigletfan, this is a journey of a lifetime, it is a lifestyle that we have to learn to change so that we can live it for life. I would pose the same questions to you as I did pixiedust247 above, are you eating all of your points? I know frustration, I have been there before so I can empathize, hopefully our group here can help you get the scale moving in the direction you want it to.

Hi everyone ...... I'm sorry to see that so many have been frustrated this week! I've been there over the past 6 months myself!!! I guess we all go through positive & negative "head space" moments in this journey .....

Every week (Saturdays) I go to my meeting ... without fail ... and weigh in to see if it's a positive or a negative result - I've had both! The one thing I do that I'd like to suggest to my new found friends here is this: I write down one sentence, phrase, etc. that I hear in the meeting each week to use as inspiration. This is usually something my leader shares, but sometimes it comes from another member! Now, I actually WRITE this down - you know, on paper, with a pen - so that I can look at it later in the week (or post it somewhere prominent). For instance:

"Journal only on the days you want to lose weight."

Oh. I didn't think of it that way.
We all get lazy sometimes, I know I do, and we just don't bother. Of course, I step on the scales on Saturday and say "What!?!" Then, there are those weeks that I am soooo faithful - don't go over daily points, drink all my water, exercise - and nothing .... or worse, a gain!!! The first few times that happened, I was really frustrated .... and angry .... BUT .... I was also determined. I guess, in the end, the determination is what is winning .... and it has to. I'm not there yet. I won't be "there" for a long time ..... but I'm a lot closer than I was when I walked in the door of my WW location 6 months ago!

I'm sorry ..... I didn't mean to sound like I was on a "soap box" rant. To those that may have received it that way, please accept a heartfelt apology. I just wanted to share personal experience and growth that I have gone through during my journey. The bottom line .....

DON'T GIVE UP!!! No matter what ..... you can't stop!

Never feel like you are on a soap box, we are all here for a common goal and we are all at different points in our journey and I think we all have something we can contribute! Great quote and great advice, the weeks we journal faithfully are usually the weeks we see our greatest success. If we journal and we have issues you WW leader can have a look and help you tweak your choices. Love your bottom line quote too, how true it is!!

disney4us2002, another great quote and so very, very true!

Welcome again one and all!!! We can do this!!! Onward and downward we go.

Core - Week 4

Week 1 = 3.8
Week 2 = 0
Week 3 = 0
Week 4 = .6

Total loss after 4 weeks = 4.4 :goodvibes

Not bad if I do say so myself, especially since I am in maintenance mode.

:welcome: disney4us2002, pixiedust247, MA pigletfan, and mouseaddicts. It's great to see so many newcomers here. WW is a wonderful program, and this is a great thread for inspiration and support. Good luck!!:cheer2:

Bucci-:grouphug: Sorry you had a gain this week. Hang in there and don't give up. I hear ya on the emotional eating, and know how hard it is not to eat. You definitely have the winning attitude and you'll see a loss next week.

After a regain of 1.6 this week, I've had two days on core, and am doing well. The first day, I didn't use any flex points, and yesterday was on the same path, but my sister in law invited us to dinner, so I used 7 points on a little bit of rice, and the breading she had on the fish. I was afraid I would be needing the 35 flex points for sweets, but I really want to stay away from them and eat healthier. On core, it's nice to know I can always have something more to eat if I need it, and I don't feel any guilt because I don't have any points or flex points left. This is the first time I've ever done core, and I think I'm going to like it. I'm on call today, so I'm going to cook on the grill and hang around the house. Friday night I had some 94%ff microwave popcorn for a snack, and was very satisfied. I did buy some sugarfree chocolate pudding mix just incase that chocolate craving hits later. :rotfl:

Hang in there if you are struggling. This is a life long journey we are on, and every day we stick with it we are one day healthier.

Hope everyone has a very happy mother's day.:flower3:

I just want to say thank you again for all the supportive words and guidance..I know i will get some wonderful information here and support. After weighing in on Saturday morning i am finally down a little bit.. .4. HEY after 2 weeks of gaining i am happy with this :)
Happy mother's day to all mommas out there :)

Kathy, I am glad that you are liking Core, I find that I really am too. And like you said, it is nice to know that if I am hungry I can eat (as long as it is Core food). It just seems to be an easier way to eat by not counting points and journaling. We tired a great Core recipe last night, when I have the time I will post it here (DS had 4 helpings, which is so unlike him). I hope you have continued success!!

And to all of our mother's best wishes for a Happy Mother's day!!

This is a Core recipe, however, if you are following the flex plan it has a POINTS value of 4 for a 3/4 cup serving. The recipe serves 4. (However my family of 3 - DH, DS (11) and I ate it all).

Skillet Pork with Tomatoes and Bell Peppers

3 tsp canola oil; 1 lb pork tenderloin, trimmed and cut into 3/4" pieces; 1/2 tsp salt; 1 onion, chopped;1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped; 2 garlic cloves, minced; 3 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped; 1/2 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth; 1 T. fresh cilantro, chopped; 2 tsps fresh lime juice.

1. Heat 2 tsp. of the oil in a large non-stick skillet over med-high heat. Add the pork and 1/4 tsp salt; cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, about 2 minuted per side. Transfer the pork to a plate and set aside.
2. Heat the remaining oil in the same skillet over med-high het. Add onions, peppers, and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables begin to soften, about 2 min. Add tomatoes and cook until softened, about 1 min. Add the reserved port and the broth; bring to a boil. Cook until the pork is cooked through, 2-3 minutes. Remove skillet from the heat; stir in cilantro, lime juice and the remaining salt. Serve at once.

We had this with brown rice and it was delicious. Both of my boys had seconds and declared it delicious!!

ALRIGHT! I weighed in this morning, and lost 4.7 lbs!! YAY! I just gotta keep it up!!:cheer2:

hey all, just found this thread, can i join??? pretty please?!
i am rachel, 30years old, mom to 3 kids. i would like to ultimately lose 50 lbs. i have lost about 8lbs, but last couple weeks, not been watching. so i thought this would be great to help me stay on track. going to wdw in sept. my goal is 20lbs in 4 months. i think that's pretty reasonable!! :cheer2:

I wasn't able to post this weekend, but wanted to report back after my weigh-in on Saturday AM............. I lost 2.4lbs this week for a grand total to date of .......... 30.4lbs!!! :cool1:

I've still got a long way to go, but I am quite happy with the results so far! :goodvibes

This week was also my 6 month "anniversary" with WW. The weight doesn't come of 'FAST' like a lot of other (fad) diets, but I have confiedence that this is a lifelong change that I can make stick! I don't want to lose 30lbs to gain back 40! :scared1: (been there, done that!)

I wrote down a recipe at the meeting that I'll share later (don't have it with me right this moment). It's also a Core recipe, so it works for everyone. I haven't tried it yet .... maybe I will tonight  ..... but we haven't had a bad WW recipe yet! So far, my family (even the anti-diet DH) has enjoyed EVERY recipe I've tried from WW!

Happy Monday! :grouphug:

:cool1: Great job! You SHOULD be happy with your results--you're doing great!

I weighed in this morning, and was a little worried--with teacher appreciation last week and our fabulous PTO providing lunch 2 days and a huge cookout at my grandmothers, then lunch at my mom's over the weekend. . .well, I made mostly good choices, but I have to admit I splurged a little!! I was shocked to see that I'd actually lost 2 pounds!!:goodvibes I guess it helped that I've been more active lately and had field day on Friday! Whatever it was, it worked!! That makes 31.2 since January!!

I think loosing 20 pounds in 4 months is very attainable. Going to WDW will be a great reward for a job well done.

I think that's a wonderful weight loss. After splurging and still having a loss of 2 pounds you are definitely doing something right. I'm afraid that I may have a small gain this week. I still have another day to drink and exercise before I weigh in so I'm not out of it yet.

Thanks cepmon,
I had been having a hard time journalling lately, would start the day ok, but forgot about it by lunch. I have been doing ww this time for over 2 years, off and on, and have always done flex, but this week, I am really loving core, and not having to journal everything I eat, and not feel gulity when I stop journalling. We catholics have too much guilt in our lives as it is. I grilled up some steak on sunday with a bunch of veggies, and have been eating that all week. I really haven't missed the bread at all. I guess I look at it and don't want to use the flex points on it yet. I did get my chocolate fix with some ff pudding, that is on core. I am finding it is easier than I thought it would be to plan and have the core foods available. Maybe I was just ready. Now the real trick for me keeping on track for more than a week or two.

DizneeMommy- congratulations on your loss!!:cool1: That is awesome!!

mouseaddicts- Whoo hoo!!!! 30.4 pounds is wonderful!! You should be so proud!!!

rachel3-:welcome: and congrats on your loss so far. Your goal of 20# in four months sounds very reasonably. Good luck.

toledo13-Awesome loss!!!!:thumbsup2 Great job!!!!

MA pigletfan- congrats on your loss!!:cool1: Hopefully you're over the hump, and on the downward swing!!

tiggerlover- That recipe looks delicious. I don't eat pork too often, because I always seem to overcook it and dry it out. I'll have to check out some more core recipes.

Have a losing day everyone!!:cheer2:

Thanks for the support & encouragement! I love it here already! :grouphug:

So, I have the recipe I wrote down at this week's meeting. I'll post it here, but if there's another "recipe swap" thread that would be more appropriate, I'm happy to post it there instead. I haven't poked around too much on the WISH forum, so I'm not quite sure what all is here! :confused3

For now, here's the recipe:

"Company Chicken"

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 can chicken broth
1 Tbsp corn starch
2 Tbsp fat free cream cheese
1 pkg mushrooms, sautee

Cook chicken in broth - remove chicken & strain broth
Thicken broth with corn starch
Right before serving, whisk in cream cheese
Top chicken with mushrooms & gravy

1 breast = 4 points flex or Core

Now, I don't know how much a "pkg" of mushrooms would be :confused3 I'm guessing the container you would get from the grocery store?
I realize I also don't know how much "gravy" you're supposed to put on the chicken breast. My guess is this is a recipe for 4 breasts, so 1/4 of the sauce would be 1 serving ...... right???

I just wrote down what was on the flip chart! It sounded good. I might try it tonight or tomorrow. I think I have all the ingredients .... I'll let ya know how it is if/when I make it.

I have a LOT of recipes and I'm more than happy to share ..... just point me in the right direction..... if this isn't it!
:goodvibes

Can I join in too? This is my first week back on WW since going off & regaining. Well WI was this am & I lost 3 lbs. I'm thrilled, when I succeed it gives me motivation to move forward!

Here is the million dollar question, after losing & maintaining for a while, what keeps you going? I have gained & lost more times in the last 10 years then I'm willing to admitt! I'm hoping that the exersize will help! Any advice?

ALRIGHT! I weighed in this morning, and lost 4.7 lbs!! YAY! I just gotta keep it up!!:cheer2:

:woohoo: Woo Hoo!!!!! Great job!!!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!

:welcome: rachel3, there is always room for one more!

:cool1: mouseaddicts! Slow and steady wins the race, keep up the great work! Look at it in small milestones and it will make a big difference over all. (And thanks for the recipe...I love sharing good recipes).

cepmom, I thought about Core for about 5 months before trying it and now I wonder why I was so hesitant. As a faithful flex member for years I am just in love with Core and all of the benefits. I'll tell you what a friend told me.....try it for a week, really give it a go, what do you have to lose??? If it doesn't work or you don't like it the only thing wasted (which I don't think it will be a waste) is one week of your time.

 congrats, DizneeMommy, that is a great weekly loss.

:welcome, TrueLove's1stKiss and congratulations on your 3# loss, that is terrific.

Onward and downward gang....we can do this!!!

i'm officially getting back on track. i gained 4 lbs back in 3 weeks, but i am determined to stay on track. here we goooooooooooooo................
now i'm going to set goal at 24 in 4 months , since i did gain!! thanks for welcoming me!!! :)

okay question about exercise, what do you do? walking, running, bike, videos? anyone have an opinion on taebo vs windsor pilates? i have both sets of tapes!! just not sure which one would be better to do. i guess either is better than nothing!! :goodvibes
