Do you have an answer? :) I am struggling. I have lost weight doing both and in the past two months have started and stopped both. I need help! I have been struggling to find what works for me and I'm looking for input. We have a WW at work starting up next week and I know that could be a great start for me. My DH counts calories and is losing like crazy. I do exercise but need to do more. So did you make a decision like this? How did you decide? Thoughts? Opinions? Help!!

I prefer weight watchers points for a couple of reasons.

First, I find it much easier to keep track of the numbers when I only am adding single digit numbers  But most importantly for me, because not all calories are created equal. 100 calories worth of a high fiber, whole grain bread is SO much better for you (and therefore less POINTS) than 100 calories of chocolate chip cookies or ice cream or doritos or....whatever! (not that you shouldn't be able to treat yourself now and then.....)

It's just what works for me....

I'm currently doing a WW at work. I started the 2nd week they started here and am about to re-sign up for the 3rd term/class if you will. I'm a BIG fan of WW! You have accountability, others to ask, and it's easier to figure out

I did WW and lost 14 pounds in about 8 weeks. I then switched over to counting calories using sparkpeople.com and I have lost 37 pounds in 13 weeks. Obviously counting calories is working better for me so I am sticking with it. I still use what I learned in WW but points is really just another way of counting calories and the sparkpeople food tracker makes it so easy. I love it. :) Plus since sparkpeople is free and WW is $$$ my wallet likes it better as well. :)

I tried counting calories for awhile on Calorie King, but I was making really poor food choices. I joined WW Monthly Pass a few weeks ago and have lost 8 lbs. I'm really happy with the program and the internet access. With WW points, fat and fiber is also a factor, so I find myself looking for foods that are good tasting and also low in points. I won't settle for "diet" food because I enjoy eating too much and I want the most "bang for my buck". I'm getting myself into the WW program gradually, just like I gained the weight. I'm looking at the program as a life lesson, and I'm eager to learn all I can. I know its all about eating less and moving more, but really its not that simple. So much of weight loss is a mind game and not just physical. Whatever you decide to do, celebrate yourself every day, do not feel guilty when over-indulging, and know that you're in it for the long haul. Make it exciting, fun and challenging and you'll be successful! Good luck!

It really it doing what works best for you. I am calorie counter. I do not keep a journal or track my calories every day. I do however have an idea of the foods I eat and make the choice to eat or not eat something based on their calories.
