Last night we brought a major trouble food (for me) in the house. It was my DH's birthday and we ordered pizza. Have had no problems at all avoiding the cake but pizza . . . oh boy.

I didn't have any last night because I hadn't planned for it but its only 8 AM but I had a wonderful piece for breakfast!!! I feel confident I can stop with one piece (major accomplishment for me!)

My question is this. In the Dining Out guide it says 1/12 of a family size Chicago Stuffed pizza is 11 pts. I had 1/8 of a large (which is a little smaller than family size). So how many points should I count? I'm thinking maybe 15? I don't want to short change myself but don't want to underestimate either. I might have to make that zero point soup to get me through the whole day.

It was soooooo good.

Here's how I'd do it.

One whole family sized pizza has 132 points (1/12 has 11 points, 11 points x12 slices =132). For the sake of argument (and to keep us both sane), assume that the pizza you bought is the same size as the family one. 132 divided by 8 (because you had 1/8) = 16.5. So, I guess since it was a smaller pie, it would be about 15 points for your slice.

If I were you, I would eat the upper end of my points for the day, so you have enough left to eat.

So tell me why I can't balance my checkbook?

Donna, you're brilliant!! That's a much better way to estimate it! Thanks!
