WW Experts -- Need Advice

Which way works better for you and why---doing the program online or going to the meetings?
 
I usually just follow it at home and weigh myself once a week. I used to go to meetings but I never had the time to actually stay for a meeting. So I was basically paying to get weighed. A great points website it DWLZ.com. It has the point values for almost every restuarant you can think of and everything else. Good luck! WW works great but it does take some willpower as does any diet change.princess:
 
I'm certainly no expert as this is my second week but I love the on-line program! I get all the tools I need at my fingertips to keep track of my weight and daily food intake. I find the recipe builder to be invaluable in taking my family's beloved recipes and giving them a nice WW points makeover.

I attended WW meetings years ago and it's just not for me. I know many members swear by them but I am just too busy. I cannot commit to any more meetings in my hectic schedule. I am warming up to the message boards too. It's also much cheaper, I think. I pay $16.95 per month for the program and I believe you pay weekly when you actually go to meetings, right?

I hope I don't sound like I'm putting the meetings down. I am sure if you need that type of one-on-one support, they are great. Honestly, I feel like I am missing out a little on the comraderie. There used to be a WW group at my job and they seemed like they were having a ball!

I wish you well with the program whichever route you decide to take!
 
I have joined WW three times. The first time I went to meetings I loss less than 10 pounds, I just couldn't stick with the meetings. The next time I did WW was online, I lost almost 65 pounds over a 18 month period. I stopped the online and started living my life and I regained 25 pounds. I rejoined WW a final time and went to meetings and participated online, I didn't like the leader at my meeting so I switched to another location and another leader and things just clicked. I love my leader and even after making lifetime in May of this year I still attend most every week to participate with my group. The meetings and the comraderie are a big thing in helping me stay on track....that and WISH too! I found success both ways so I think it boils down to personal choice. I would suggest giving a meeting a try and if you aren't made to feel welcome after a couple of meetings I would search out another one, I am so glad I did.
 

I need to go to the meetings because I am one who needs the accountability of going to a meeting every week. If I do it on-line (which I have tried) I tend to cheat too much because I am weighing myself and if I don't like the number I just didn't enter it. Do I always stay for the meeting? No, but knowing that I have to get weighed in by someone is what makes me stick to it. I am down close to 22 pounds right now. There have been leaders I don't really like too much so I now try to avoid those meetings. I also like the people at the meetings; you get to see the results of everyone and hear their success stories and also what didn't work for them.
 
I've done WW both ways and I've always had more success when I attend meetings. Like a pp said, there is just something about the accountability of having someone else weigh me that keeps me on track. I usually really enjoy the meetings too, but it is important to find a leader/meeting that is right for you. I like the leaders who encourage you to make the program your own and find what works the best for you.

Right now, I'm using the Monthly Pass, so I get the advantages of both the meetings and the online tools. I love the online tracker and I was happy that I didn't have to give that up by going back to meetings. However, it is more expensive than just using the online program ($39.95/mo v. $16.95/mo), but to me the meeting is worth the $6 extra each week. It's still a bargain compared to some other weight loss programs.
