Wrote to Disney, got reply today...

Since DFiance and I started walking at Disney most every Sunday and Monday, I feel so much better, lost weight, etc. So I was thinking what a wonderful idea it would be if Disney offered a "walking" club ie; before opening EPCOT or something similar or if they offered Flex Pay like the other parks so more people could get out and enjoy a pleasant walking experience. So I wrote an email and sent it in, pretty much stating my idea, althought I thought no one would even consider it, I figured why not, and thanking them for offering such a beautiful place to "exercise"... Got an email back from their paralegal stating that they know I must be upset, but they can not look at my email, they have deleted it and will not talk about it, etc because if a similar project was developed there could be problems, etc. The whole it was my idea lawsuit I guess is what they were refering to, YIKES I never thought they would say that, I wasn't trying to start anything, of course maybe it is just a standard reply to "suggestions".... not sure. Anyone else ever suggest something and get such an answer.

I believe that is the standard answer for all ideas submitted to WDW- at least that's always the answer I've heard sent! It is a FABULOUS idea though- too bad they couldn't "read it" and implement it!

I think that's a fabulous idea---too bad they're too stubborn to read it. So what if a loyal Disney fan submits a wonderful idea to improve the Disney experience. I'd be happy with a little recognition/acknowledgment in the form of a free year or whatever. C'mon Disney--your fans have great ideas for you!!

I would be surprised if they'd let the public in before opening though, you may be able to see the behind the scenes stuff that is so secretive and they'd lose that mystery we all love.?

It's not a case of being stubborn at all... unfortunately, in this day and age of suing Cracker Jacks because you didn't find a prize, they can't take suggestions from the general public. If they did, they'd be legally obligated to compensate the person for the idea if they used it.

HOWEVER... if they send a blanket statement that they cannot and will not accept unsolicited suggestions from the general public, and that they have not read it, and have destroyed the original suggestion, they're covered. Someone on staff there may have come up with a similar (or the same!) suggestion, and it just might become a reality.

Certainly don't take the email personally... it's standard.

And. although it would be a WONDERFUL place to go walk before it opened, it's probably just not feasible. However, there are dozens of other walks you could take before the crowds hit. Around resorts and such. Wish I were close enough to take advantage!
