Written Confirmation?

I bought some DVC points from a member here back in November for a Boardwalk room. I got the reservation # back then and haven't thought about it since.

Well, we're into two weeks from our arrival date now and have yet to get any kind of written confirmation for the reservation. Doesn't this usually arrive 2-3 weeks out? I've emailed the DVC member, but all emails weren't replied too.

I called up the DVC (800-********) to try and confirm it but they're closed on the weekends. So I'll try on Monday. Will they be able to tell me anything event though I'm not a member?

Does the written confirmation go to the DVC member, then us renters? Or directly to us? I'm just getting a little worried now (it's also our wedding at the Poly), but hopefully Monday I can get confirmation from DVC Member services.

Thanks.

The confirmation letters are always sent to the member and not to the renter. The member would need to forward it along to you. When you call MS, usually all they will do is confirm that you have a reservation. Some have reported making requests themselves, but the member is still in full control of the reservation. You would not be able to make any changes to the actual reservation (dates, resort, room type).

Ideally, your written contract would have stated that you would receive the confirmation letter from the member as a condition of the rental before you sent your final payment. Hopefully, you have an address and phone number of the member and can contact them in that fashion. Regardless, you will not need the letter to check in at the resort. You will need a photo ID. The reservation number would be helpful to check on the reservation when you call. You can also call the resort directly and they can look up your reservation by using the confirmation number.

Good luck! :)

Thank you for the info. Suggestions on how to find the direct # to the boardwalk?
Thanks.

The written confirmation gets sent to the DVC member within 7 - 10 buisness days. I always send the original confirmation to the renter. I would definitely call on Monday to make sure you have a reservation. The DVC member probably just forgot to send you the confirmation. As long as MS confirms that you have a reservation when you call you should be ok.

Thanks.

The front desk at the BWV may be reached at (407) 939-5100 (Fax is (407) 939-5150 )

Enjoy!

Thanks. (at to those that PM'd).

Gave the front desk a call but was told they can't see DVC reservations until 5 days out from the arrival. I'll just call MS on Monday.

I did a search, and that person's last post was March 17 of 2005. That's more than a year ago, so I would definitely do some checking on that ressie with MS.

While what Doc states below has always been true, I have had two recent rentals, where I gave MS the rentee's full address info at the time of booking, and the MS-Guide (both times) informed me that the ressie conformation would be directly mailed to the Rentee not me.

In my rural corner of the world, it takes nearly 30 calander days before the conf. letters actually reach my hand (this is a big improvement of the first year of membership, when no letter ever reached me by mail, a long and interesting story that only affected corporate owners). So, I post back when we find out what really happens with a guest's full address at ressie time.

Stay tuned.

In the past DVC's policy has not been to send anything to non members. I suspect the renter will never receive anything but let us know if it happens differently.

Good news!!

I just got off the phone with member services and they have our reservation under the ressie # I was given. Everything is set: A 1 BR suite at the BWV overlooking the boardwalk for the right dates. Even had note about the wedding. ah! I'm so happy!

Man, what a relief. I was going crazy since Sat.

But we have our room! Yippie!

:cool1:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :bounce: :goodvibes :wave2:

Thanks everyone!

Glad to hear all is well! Have a wonderful wedding and WDW honeymoon! :sunny:
