I will be sending off a fax to confirm my room requests, and was curious as to what people wrote on them (besides the obvious info)...what did you include to try and get those requests (special reasons for trips, etc?)

Thank you! I can't believe I haven't seen that before on All Ears, must have missed it! :wave2:

All ears has great advice (love that site as much as this one!) However, I recently read on another thread that some resorts are not reading/honoring fax requests any longer. The two I read by name are wilderness lodge and contemporary. Evidently the number of faxes has become to great :(

So - if you have an important request, non-smoking or king bed for example make sure and call cro and have it noted. This may now be the best and only way to make request. If you want a specific view make sure your reservations qualifies - ie water view vs standard.

If your resort is still taking fax request then go for it, be polite and list your request in order of preference. Don't request more than you have paid for and cross your fingers!

I sent one two weeks ago for our stay at WL. I reminded them that I had a courtyard view and no smoking. I told them it was our first stay there and we would love to be in the lobby area. I then stated that I was sure we would be happy where ever and we could not wait to see them. We got just what we wanted and loved the room. It's worth a try.

ALL EARS™ ticket guru, JackM, reports: Effective immediately, Wilderness Lodge will no longer accept faxed in room requests. All room requests must be added to your reservation by the Disney Reservation Center (WDTC and/or CRO) at least 10 days prior to your arrival at WL. Faxes may be sent to DRC at 407-939-3463 or they may be called in to 407-WDISNEY.

The official Disney policy on room preferences has always been that they need to be added directly to the reservation by DRC and contact with the resort was discouraged. In the past, that policy has not been strictly adhered to as the volume of the faxes received by the resort has been manageable. WL made this decision based on several factors, which included the increase in the number of faxes received and the adverse reaction upon resort arrival of many people who could not have their room requests granted. Currently, each resort is free to adopt this policy or not as they see fit. Do not be surprised if other Disney resorts soon join WL and the DVC resorts in not accepting faxed room requests.
