Wristband for Evening Extra Magic Hour

Just wanted to know about the wristbands from someone who has been to the extra evening hour recently.

Does everyone in the group need to show a room key? Or can one adult get wristbands for the rest of the family? We are staying at the Swan in early July - I usually don't get room keys for my boys, but will need to if we want to try the evening extra hours.

Also, how strictly is the rule enforced - my younger son is ALWAYS losing and misplacing things - if he didn't have his key and everyone else did, would they really refuse to give him a wristband??

There must be one room key per band. Rather than taking the risk of your child losing his key, why not just designate an adult to hold the kids' keys?

When we went to EMH in February of this year, my husband and I had 2 different experiences with wristband distribution.
One night at MGM, we only had to show one room key for the both of us and then another night at MK, we each had to show our room keys for wristbands.
I'm not sure what the "Disney Rule" is but these were our experiences and hope they help with you. If you are unsure, I would give Disney a call and ask what they suggest, so you can be assured that you have the correct materials.
EMH is really a wonderful idea.. we enjoyed all of our favorite rides and the parks were not crowded at all.. and we were there the week leading up to President's day..

Put simply and directly, have a room key for everyone. Have an adult carry your kids keys. Why even take a chance on having a problem. It is no extra work to carry an extra key or two and it could eliminate a potential problem. we all read on these boards how rules can be enforced differently or arbitrarily. Who needs the stress? I actually think this line of reasoning would eliminate about half the problems that we read about on these boards.

I think you are right about the room key, Chuck - I'll just keep the kid's keys with me. And I'll only need to take all 4 keys if/when we do the evening extra hours.

I have a feeling that ReneeDisney's experience is probably typical - the wristband distribution will vary depending on which CM helps you. So we need to be prepared with all the correct ID/room keys if we want the bands.

It was great to hear how much you enjoyed the evening experience, ReneeDisney. We are looking forward to the cooler temps in the evening - I think it will make touring the parks far more pleasant. We can also take a longer afternoon break, knowing we will have several hours to enjoy the attractions.

The 2 times I did EMH, once at MK and once at MGM, they put the wristbands on each person. You could not get enough for your family and put them on yourselves, everyone has to stand in line.

We were just there 2 weeks ago and they had us show ALL of our room keys in order to get the braclets. They do this so someone doesn't try and get braclets for friends or family that are not staying on property.

We always get a room key for all of our sons (also for the 9 month old) we love to put them in their scrapbook at home.

...If your park tickets are on your room keys you will have to carry them all day and to every park. One of the perks at staying at a WDW resort is you can have your room key set up for park admissions and for charge privileges. We do this all the time as it makes things easier to mangage.

OT, are they the paper wristbands like they have at museums? They itch like crazy!
