I was a little surprised to see on here that Santa wraps some people's stocking gifts. Does he at your house?

Santa doesn't wrap any gifts here.

Santa gifts - yes in a Santa specific paper
Stockings - No

How many times now, just here on the DIS, have I read something about the whole wrapping debate...

I don't get it????

Wrap if you want...
Don't if you don't...

My son would be disappointed if he didn't get to 'unwrap' presents!!!
So, he gets to call the shots...

Except of course when there is something like a big shiny new bike... ;)

I do also get the whole toys-under-the-tree thing too.

I usually get a few little things, a stuffed lab like our dog with a big red ribbon around his neck, wooden nutcracker figures to add to DS collection, etc.... and then spruce up the wrapped packages by having them openly displayed... kind of best of both worlds!!!

Yes he does!

Gives a little extra time for the grown ups to sleep in while the kids are occupied.

He might even be a little elfish and wrap it in packing tape. Make the kids work for that gift. ;)

I kinda like to know different traditions that families have. It is nice to see us all do something the same, but in different ways!

That being said, Santa gifts are wrapped. Being that my son is a teenager, not all of the gifts supposed to go in the stocking will fit. He normally has an "overflow" of gifts under or by the stocking. Santa gifts are all wrapped in the same paper - this year it is all red - with the exception of the BIG Santa gift, which is wrapped in all blue paper. No curling ribbon or bows. At least not yet. I am still deciding if I want to pretty up the paper, with the risk of our psychadelic kitty who loves to eat stuff, such as curling ribbon.

:tiptoe: Okay, then.

I'm not trying to add to any debate about wrapping vs unwrapping. I just never heard anyone say the stocking gifts were wrapped before. That surprised me.

Santa usually wrapped some stocking gifts in my family. We didn't always have enough money for big gifts when I was growing up so Santa wrapping the little ones made it seem like we got more.

Yep Santa wraps everything at our house or puts it in a nice gift bag :teeth: even the stuff for the dog and cat are wrapped.

No one gets to open presents without everyone in the house being there to share in the excitement.

Stocking stuffers aren't wrapped. All other gifts are. I used to divvy up the gifts from Santa vs gifts from Mom/Dad, but thankfully, don't have to do that anymore (youngest is almost 18).

well our house mrs claus actually wraps everything including stocking gifts. Santa gets to eat cookies drink milk and watch tv, i mean tend to reigndeer. if this santa wrapped the kids surely would know because I am hands down the worse wrapper in the world

I was shocked to read that Santa doesn't wrap gifts at some houses. Everyone would know what the gifts are!!!?!!?? I supposed Santa does get busy with all of the houses he has to hit each night, though. I'm just very grateful he remembers which houses get them wrapped and which ones don't.

Santa is amazing.

When we did Santa, the gifts were never wrapped (stocking stuffers or other).

The gifts from Mom and Dad are always wrapped and under the tree. :)

Were you being sarcastic or snarky?
If sarcastic, well you know sometimes we run out of things to talk about.
If snarky, might I suggest some eggnog (the good kind)

Me too. LOL I mean like truly SHOCKED! :scared1:

About as shocked as I was to find out that some people don't use a top sheet on their beds.  (Which is why, I assume, Bed Bath and Beyond always ends up with markdowns on top sheets.)

I've learned so much on the DIS. ::yes::

I only wrap the "good stuff" for stocking stuffers. Candy and snacks don't get wrapped, but everyone is getting chirstmas tee shirts this year so those and the gift cards are getting wrapped.

Santa has never wrapped the stocking stuffers, and only left one big item by the tree that was unwrapped. The rest of the presents under the tree are wrapped, and are from Mom and Dad. :thumbsup2

Santa is amazing.

At our house he only leaves the one thing for each child, and it's usually near their stocking, so he doesn't need to wrap it. You're right, he'd get pretty tired of wrapping!

Growing up in a family of 6 children, my parents always wrapped stocking stuffers to help fill what little we got for Christmas. Each of us would only get 2 or 3 gifts under the tree to unwrap, but you add 5 to 10 stocking stuffers to that and we would have lots to unwrap!

As an adult, I've continued the tradition of wrapping stocking stuffers. :)
