Look at my countdown timer!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Weird thing is, I was so excited about our trip for so long and now that it is almost here I'm not really even thinking about it. School is out, trying to keep kids entertained, swim lessons, dress rehearsal and dance recital, relatives coming in town for Memorial Day weekend, two birthdays in the family, car needs to be checked before our drive down, etc. Just the thought of packing and trying to get the laundry done makes me want to cry!

Interestingly, hubby hasn't said much of anything about our trip and yesterday he looks over at me and tells me he needs this trip badly, he feels burned out. I guess he is excited at least? ;)

Anyone want to get me excited again with thoughts of BWV? Never stayed there before. Suggestions for lazy day ideas? I really think we don't need to do commando this trip.

Thanks!

All of the things don't have to be done NOW! Relax, enjoy the weekend and your relatives. You'll have a great trip, I'm sure.

Bobbi:D

Thanks Bobbi. I guess you can tell I don't want to pack. I can't stand doing it! I'm sure I'll wait until the night before we leave to pack for all four of us! But yes, you are right. I need to relax and maybe get a glass of wine tonight after the kids go to sleep! :p
Maybe after my DD finishes her summer workbook I'll take them up to the pool and read my Vacation Magic! :sunny:

Just tackle one thing that has nothing to do with clothes each day and before you know it you'll be ready for a quick packing job.
While you are drinking your wine or lounging by the pool bring along a pad and a pen and do a little planning. Sometimes what is stressful is not knowing exactly what the plan is and what has to be done.

First, Have a great trip! You will love BWV.

A few thoughts (you probably already had them yourself) for enjoying time in and around BWV:

Community Hall offers many free things to do: videos; video games; foosball....it's a great place to spend a couple of hours - also check to see what events they may be running.

Fantasia Mini-golf - this is aonly a couple of minutes walk from the resort. Very convenient and a lot of fun.

ESPN Club - They have a bunch of video games and will often have some sports celebrities showing up.

Surrey Bikes - riding around the lake is both a lot of fun and great exercise!

We wish you a magical Disney experience!

Louis

leave some of those wonderful cocktails for the rest of us.
If yu are an early riser yu can walk or run around the boardwalk and pick up breakfast at the bakery on the way back.
Enjoy the sauna and steamroom for relaxation.
Fun to be had on the slide and sun and soak by the pool.
Say hello to the elephant for us.
Patrick.

Back from pool. :sunny: We're getting a good base tan going here. Hopefully no sunburns this trip! (Course, my hubby's bald head is another story... ;) )

I think my problem is I need to start a packing list and keep it and revise each trip so eventually it will be just right. With DVC we're guaranteed Disney trips often now so I think I just need to work on this. I usually procrastinate, then run around throwing things in the suitcase and usually forget half the stuff we need and bring way too much stuff we don't. Maybe I should start a what is your packing and preparing style thread?

We just happen to be quite busy up until we leave which adds to the stress of me worrying about getting everything in order. Hubby last night told me we're going to have dinner with his parents the night before we leave. I think I gave him a pretty mean look, but they are taking one of our pets for us. I reminded him we'll be packing and I'll need to get the kids bathed and in bed. MEN! Course, he doesn't even do his own packing so what does he care? I think I need to put him to work! :hyper:

So much to do before we leave; clean the house, laundry, pack, hair cut, mow the lawn, make sure the cat's are taken care of, make sure someone waters the plants...
Don't let it bother you, enjoy your vacation. A week from now you'll wonder where the days went, so relax and just do what you got to do to get there.

Mike

Hey there!

Our counters are almost exactly the same :bounce: We, too, have been waiting forever...I can remember when it was like 250 days or something. Anyway, you'd think we were packed and ready to go too but not so. Busy as you are with dance recital, work, etc. I have to actually drive my DD and her gymnastics team up to TN (8hrs) to watch a national gymnatics meet on Wednesday, we get home on Friday, wash clothes and leave Saturday morning to Disney (9hrs)!! We are also staying at POP the 1st night and then checking into the OKW Grand Villa :Pinkbounc: Can't wait!!

Have a great time!!

Although we're flying out Saturday afternoon, we're going to visit some of my family in Venice before we check into an OKW 2bdr on the first. We'll be at the Gurgling Suitcase that evening having a Turtle Crawl as soon as the bus drops us off after Illuminations. Hope to bump into some other DisBoarders while we're there.

Mike

Men are a pain aren't we :jester: :sunny:

Anyways you will have a great BWV trip

Ride the Coaster Keister at Luna Park
Fantasia Mini-Golf
Boardwalk strolling in the Evening
Go to Seashore Sweets for an Ice Cream
Drop by the Bakery for a bite
Have fun with Phil the Shell Game Guy
Get a Hair Wrap

Go to the parks but just for a couple of hours

Enjoy your trip!

thanks
Jason

You'll be busy, but at least time will fly!!

Shan, I didn't realize you had a trip so soon! We'll be leaving Sunday, staying overnight in your neck of the woods -- McDonough on I-75. We'll be at the Poly May 31st - June 5th, then 4 nights DVC (if a studio opens up last minute) or Riverside (my backup plan). Look for me with the Mickey ears on my navy blue bag!

Thanks everyone!

DisneyKraZy, we'll also be at POP Saturday, the 5th before we move to BWV. We have about an 8 hour drive. I'm gonna go get a lime green ribbon or something. Isn't that the color? Anyway, look for me! We'll probably have dinner in the food court that night and let the girls go for a swim. I'm short with a 20s looking bob right now, two little girls, both blond. Here's a link to some older pics of us -

Just scroll down and you'll see us.

Mike, colleen and anyone else please stop and say hello if you see us anywhere! :earsgirl:

Oh, and Jason - Yes, men are a huge pain! ;)

should i be concerned we leave on the 4th as well and i have done NOTHING (packing-wise) yet?

i'm using the 'i work full time, i'm almost 6 months pregnant and i have a 2yr old' excuse :teeth:

Shan: I also have been feeling overwhelmed with everything to do before we leave. For so long the trip seemed so far away and suddenly it's here. I do all the packing for us too and it does seem overwhelming at times when combined with all the other things that need to be done already mentioned. I too need to make a list and keep it from year to year.
I am sure you will get it all done (or at least the most important things--I don't think I am going to leave the house quite as clean as I like :D ) and have a great trip.

Denise

Hey Shan,

We will most likely eat at the food court also and hang out around the pool. My children are a lot older than your little ones...16yr DD & 14yr DS...we'll be with my sister and her family of 3 children ages 10,11, & 12. I'm sure they will be making quite a splash. Anyway, if I happen to see you, I'll be sure to say hello :wave2:

have fun!!

Melissa

Shan--I know the feeling you are talking about. I think stress and running around can really take the wind out of you so you don't even have the energy to be excited! Maybe sometimes what we really need is a trip to a desert island (or at least a nice tropical one) rather than Disney!

Packing and organizing everything for me is very difficult. I am always afraid I am going to forget something important (and I usually do) even when I am very careful with a checklist and everything -- I inevitably forget a critical item, like medication of some kind or something else really important, so that can be stressful -- just organizing. All the daily juggling is just crazy making.

This year, I am going to try take it easy and not be too perfectionistic about the whole thing. (Just make sure I bring the critical items). The rest will fall into place.

And I'm sure it will fo you, too. Once you are there, you will be in heaven! I like the idea someone mentioned of leisurely planning with a pad and paper and glass of wine in hand.

Have a wonderful trip!:D

Everyone going to WDW have a wonderful time!

We leave Saturday night and I am feeling a wee bit stressed. Started to collect things to pack for about 2 weeks now but things have been so busy that I haven't actually packed anything yet

Prior to this week I couldn't wait for our trip to come. This trip is a couple of "firsts" for us:

1. traveling with DH's family
2. Traveling with a 6 month old DD princess:
3. traveling with a teething 6 month old DD princess:
4. First time staying at BWV

As we get closer I'm starting to get a bit scared. Hopefully the baby will sleep on the plane....otherwise it will be a long 10 hours of flying time :earseek:

The things we go through for the Mouse :p
