Oh Lord, don't let some of those budget board people read this thread... they will be tying up the phone lines at WDW dining after watching "Beaches" and eating some raw onion to get ready to call.

Consider it done...:thumbsup2

I'm thinking I won't even warn the wife and girls of my plan before we get there. The panicked look on their faces as I melt down into a pool of slobbering goo will definitely add to the effect! Who knows, I might even get the Cinderella Suite?!?!

Can you throw up while crying? If you get a CM who has never seen this, it might scare them so bad, they may comp you free park passes for the whole family.:thumbsup2

Dont be so harsh to judje the op. We got bumped outta Allstars to POP.:thumbsup2 one time. Another time we got free parking passes when sometin went astray. I beleive in the magic:goodvibes

Wow! Incredible comp! My "tearful" story occurred approx 10 years ago when Disney offered the Food and Fun Package. We saved forever for the four of us to go and take my mom. It was my DD's first trip to WDW. We were staying at the Beach Club the week after Thanksgiving.

My husband became ill as soon as we got to Orlando with a stomach bug. We spent the first night off property and went to Sea World, where Shamu drenched us (we were in the handicapped area with my mom and could not move). Ruined our camcorder (it was in the bag). Had to go back to the hotel and change. Was wringing out my delicates 45 minutes after the fact! Could not use the camcorder for my DD's 1st trip to WDW!

We went to check in at the BC the next day, and the CM at the Front Desk was incredibly rude about everything. Explained the Food and Fun Package to me, and it no longer included any of the restaurants where we wanted to dine and already had ADR's. Before you shoot flames, I know they can change the plan, but it was virtually all of the good restaurants! Then I asked if there were any rooms available for early check-in as DH was so ill (around noon). Was sent to a room (I always check out our rooms before the family all goes up and we have the luggage delivered). Could not get the key to work. After several tries, a burly gentleman opened the door. They had not check out yet. Returned to Front Desk. CM became even ruder. By that time I had had it. Asked to speak to management and was sent over to Guest Services.

When it was my turn to speak to the CM at Guest Services, I was in tears with all of my tickets, F&F Package paraphenalia, etc., in my hands (I cry when I am angry). Now picture this . . . tears hitting the crap in my hands, me shaking due to all the stuff that had happened over the past 2 days, and telling the CM I had been planning and saving forever (in the middle of the lobby!). The manager rushes out, takes everything from me, listens to my story, summons a bellman, and sends us to a beautiful, first floor waterfront room (right next to the quiet pool closest to the World Showcase entrance). Perfection! The bellman asks if we are celebrating any special occasions during our trip, and OMG, I remember that that day was our anniversary! Totally lost track of days due to all the turmoil over the trip! The CM made ADR's at all of the restaurants where we wanted to dine, and he spoke to each restaurant manager to be sure they would take care of the meal with our F&F Plan. Champagne & chocolates were waiting for us when we returned from dinner that evening.

Now that is true customer service! With an extra serving of Pixie Dust! Fabulous vacation!

So tears can work wonders!

I don't know. Sounds a bit fishy to me.

Just joined this month.
All of 4 posts.
Got comped at V&A for a restaurant being closed.

At least two other people I've seen (one posted above, can't find the other one) have mentioned getting a VIP viewing area for Illuminations, not V&A.

Oh wait - maybe they just got confused...Viewing Area versus V&A.

Or they got a seating for V&A. Imagine the waterworks when they get the bill!!!

Your story is believeable though.

Maybe OP ate at Teppanyaki on her honeymoon to the brand new EPCOT Center, and maybe that was the only TS meal they had on their honeymoon.

DH and I have a warm place in our heart for the Plaza Restaurant on Main Street because it was the only non-CS restaurant we ate at on our honeymoon.

I think it is plausible (though quite unlikely) that she 1st mentioned how incredibly special Teppanyaki is to her and her spouse before the CM had much of a chance to even mention the rehab.

I think CM have to make split second decisions on who to cast dreams on and what to do. I have a distant relative who related the story that they had planned to stay less than a half day at AK. They had been to AK earlier in the trip and had just come back to ride the safari. Well before rope drop the adorable 6 year old girl told a CM that they were "just there to see the animals." When pressed, she repeated...I am just here to see the animals. They were made AK family of the day, and got their own personal safari ride with a guide that told them all about the animals. They got the royal "all about the animals" day.

I hear the story, and I'm thinking that she is just repeating her parents, and their expectations for the family for the day and the CMs thinks she's going to grow up to be a zoologist and has a wild animal fettish.

However, the whole family all absolutely love AK now. Its their favorite park.

Oh Baby!! I'm definitely crying now!! Pride be damned, dreams really do come true at Disney!!

So what if it is a lie? What does it cost you in your "real" life to say nothing to the OP? Yeah, I know someone may believe it. Obviously some still do even with the snarky comments.

It is the year of a million dreams, is it not? You never know!

The reason that posting something like this is a problem if it is a lie (and caution should be used when posting stuff like this even if it isn't a lie) is because there are some people who will take advantage and expect...nay demand....to be similarly comped for all sorts of outrageous things and use this story as an example to get what they want.

Pretty soon, Disney will simply cease sprinkiling ANY pixie dust as it causes them more problems than it's worth.

No good deed goes unpunished as they say.

Yes, they do! But they have to be real and dripping! I mean when it was happening, I was embarrassed! But, I was too mad to really care, and after all, I never saw any of those people again! I never expected any sort of upgrade. I just wanted Mr. Rude CM to get a good talkin' to, and to sort out our ADR's. Everything else was just Pixie Dust!

I have always found just being nice will get you everywhere!

Wow that is great!!!!! Your Anniversary celebration will be VERY special!!! :cool1: CONGRATS!

Missie

I'm not buying it.

Anyone who would cry to the point of hyperventilation over a canceled dinner reservation (I don't care if it's your 75th anniversary), should be ashamed of themselves.

My .02 cents.

I hope that you all calm down and stop posting on this thread if this bothers you all that much......

But your situation was ENTIRELY different from the OP’s, and while much of your problem was not caused by Disney, some major issues were – much more major than simply not being able to dine at a given restaurant which, by the way, neither can the 25,000 or so other affected Guests. You were treated BADLY by the front line CM, and the manager took steps to make it up to you. You DESERVED to be treated at least as well as you were, if not better. Glad to know you were pixie-dusted!

They were made AK family of the day, and got their own personal safari ride with a guide that told them all about the animals. They got the royal "all about the animals" day.
But that’s a 'typical'* Magical Moment – not something that’s going to cost Disney several hundred dollars because someone cried.

*Not to imply it's not special - after all, there can only be one Family of the Day at any given park, out of all the thousands of Guests at each park. It IS special!

Dont be so harsh to judje the op. We got bumped outta Allstars to POP.:thumbsup2 one time. Another time we got free parking passes when sometin went astray.

Not quite in the same league as being comped a $250 dinner simply for crying hysterically when told your ADR at a Japanese steakhouse is not going to work out.

Can you throw up while crying? If you get a CM who has never seen this, it might scare them so bad, they may comp you free park passes for the whole family.:thumbsup2

Not to mention if you got any on your clothes, they'd probably toss in a free t-shirt. I always tell my kids if they feel like they're going to be sick, make sure to do it near the store that had that $50 outfit they wanted.:rotfl:

I think that enough is enough here... I fail to see the humour here, bottom line is op was upset over not getting dinner at the place they chose to celebrate their 25th anniversary, Disney happily made other arrangements for them.. I think we are just going to have to cut the OP a break here and let her enjoy her celebration dinner and take her word for what Disney did for her..

I am asking as previously stated by another moderator that we step away from this thread and let it go or this one will be locked..
