I was married there if that counts. THey get snow at least once a month through out the year. There is also a glacier that has snow on it all year long that people use to ski durring the summer. It is a beautiful place anytime of year.

OMG...please do not say that horrid "S" word. I am so disappointed that Summer is winding down and Fall will not be around for very long (two seasons I ) but I hate, despise, loathe WINTER !!!!
Oooh heck no, do NOT start throwing around that dreaded word SNOW.
I do NOT want to have to dig out the shovel yet.
I do NOT want to have to lug home 20lbs of salt for the walks.
I do NOT want to have to shop for the kids winter jackets already and the twenty pairs of mittens of which they will lose ONE mitten from each pair and by February they will be wearing mismatched mittens (say THAT 10 times fast!)
I do NOT want to have to find boots that prevent me from falling on my ample behind because even in the largest of parking lots I ALWAYS find the one patch of black ice.
I.Can.NOT.stand.WINTER.
I'd be happy if it snowed on Christmas Eve and Day and on New Year's Eve and Day and that would be it. It can be cold, but NO SNOW.
That is the only thing I hated about Portland, I grew up in the multnomah area and hated going to school when they predicted snow. It seemed everyone, beaverton especially, would have at least one snow day a year but Portland schools were always open.
I don't live near the mountains, but we do get alot of snow in our area...usually not in Sept. We have had to turn on our furnace in the last few days. The trees are turning colors now. It is just beautiful here!
Well most of us live down in the valley near Portland, Oregon. There are a couple of small towns up near the mountain, but they are very small.
The day they had snow up on the mountain it was about 75 down here in the Willamette valley. However, the day before we did have some rain that rolled in and some hail, thunder, lightening, etc... We have had a very hot summer here, 20-something days over 90 degrees. I know that's not hot compared to a lot of you, but it is for us! Normally our summers are around 82-85 degrees and this time of the year we are usually about 75-78 degrees.
That small amount of snow was just kind of a fluke, although it does ocasionally happen this time of year. There are snow & glaciers on the mountain year round, but not always at the base. Generally they are lucky to be able to open the ski lifts by Thanksgiving!
