I booked the Free Dining Plan last week and finally went to plan my meals. It was very difficult finding reservations for restaurants. After some switching around of dates I finally got my choices but I don't remember it being it this difficult.

Some of us booked the bounceback, others figured Disney will eventually announce Free Dining so they booked ADR's when they could for the dates they were planning on going.

Glad you were able to get what you wanted.

I just booked today for Sept and got all my ressies at great times even CRT :)

Well, the ADRs have been open for all of free dining for between 1 month (at the latest) and 2 1/2 months (at the earliest). Restaurants get real busy during FD as well, since most people are utilizing the plan and booking several sit down meals.

Best bet if booking late is to be flexible (as you found out). Use off times or different days if needed.

and to add to that, have a back up restaurant for each choice in case you can't get what you want. You can always keep looking for your first choice and cancel the alternative later, but still have the security of knowing that you will have somewhere to eat that day.
