Hi everyone

I've just received an e-mail from Discovery Cove and it bought tears to my eyes (I'm a bit soppy!) and wanted to share with you all.

As some of you will know I'm a single parent of a 6 year old DS and will be going to Disney next in Dec 05/Jan 06 for 3 weeks. DS's 8th birthday will be 15th Jan and I had planned to take him to fulfill his life long ambition of swimming with dolphins - he was devastated last year to learn he was too young.

Anyway, I will have a 6 month infant with me at that time and had panicked that DS wouldn't be allowed into the Dolphin interaction alone. So I e-mailed Discovery Cove.

The customer services guy had spoken to a trainer and she had said to let a trainer know on arrival and they will allocate a trainer to accompany him in the water, stay with him and assist in any way they can whilst I watch from the shore.

I am sooo pleased and so touched - you would never get that level of service in this country. I am going to keep the whole thing a surprise from DS until the day we go to DC - he is going to be gob smacked!

Thanks for listening to my ramble- just wanted to share a bit of magic!

He's so utterly dolphin/whale/sealife mad - he would be happy going to Florida and spending the whole 22 days at Seaworld- no kidding. He cried his eyes out last year when we found out he was too young- not a tantrum but genuine distress.

He spends all his time drawing whales and dolphins and day dreaming about them.

His favourite dvd is the Blue Planet series - how strange is that for a 6 year old? lol He would rather watch a sealife documentary than a cartoon anyday bless him!

I can't wait to surprise - so long to wait! :Pinkbounc

How lovely Claire!!

My DD is the same about dinosaurs as your son is about sealife so I know what you mean! :)

what brilliant service

we are swimming with dolphins on our 2nd week in the bahamas and only me and dh know......its a 60th birthday surprise for my mum:sunny:

i hope your son has a fab time and memories to last a lifetime

 (Another soppy one here!)

Our two dds and elder dd's boyfriend did the Dolphin Swim a couple of weeks ago. It was definitely the highlight of their holiday.

Oh what wonderful news Claire.

I've never been to Discovery Cove before, but I know people who have been and swimming with the dolphins were a dream come true for them. I hope you all have a fantastic time.

How fabulous

It's good to know that Discovery Cove care enough to assist individual visitors (especially children!)

You've made me all excited about my visit in November again.

Your news was lovely
