Wow-very powerful trailer for a movie...

Was that really a movie? I thought it was just an infomortial of sorts. Count me out if Gore is in charge. No big fan here! I can't really say it's global warming, but something is certainly causing the weather to change. Here is a little research I'd done after Katrina hit.

Oh, and please leave a margin of error as this took a long time to put together. I didn't bother rechecking.

like it said it has nothing to do with politics
dismissing it cuz gores in it is to dismiss the reality that we are ALL killing the planet and our kids and grandkids will pay the price
if we all dont sooner

Dismiss the movie b/c its Al Gore?

It looked like it'd be a great documentary to see this summer. Makes you stop and think.

I am Al Gore. I used to be the next president of the United States.

It really sounds like he could care less about politics here too, huh? I'll see all the  and raise you all another

Not enough do, I'm afraid. Whatever your politics, we all have to share the earth and we could all try to do our little bit to help the planet.

Al doesnt make me stop and think - he makes me :rotfl2:

now i remember why i went to a nice part of the Dis
if this movie was made by Bush or a republican maybe you would not be so quick to dismiss the message
which is a very important one
you are letting your feelings for Gore be the focus instead of the planet
sad sad

:confused3 I don't think Al Gore caused globle warming -

anyways looks interesting... and it is scary that it could be our reality eventually!

No, I'd pretty much have the same opinion if it was any politician. It just so happens that the particular politician in question (whom I happened to vote for, BTW) is one of the most boring humans on the planet. Why would I subject myself to a movie (something that's supposed to be entertaining) featuring him? :confused3 :confused3

That's not true at all, I really don't care much for the current president either and I HOPE the GOP comes up with a better candidate in '08.

I only speak for myself however, so others are free to feel however they wish.

because the movie isnt about him its about the planet

In all honesty, there are many that feel that there really is no global warming. Personally, I can't say one way or the other, but if you look at my prior post, you would see that we are experiencing many more storms in the past 10 or so years than we have records to look back at. Some feel it's simply a cycle and we're in that cycle now.

I've spent much time researching past storms, so it's not like those who don't care for Gore simply neglect current affairs/issues. There are other ways to learn ya know.

I would add though that in Pennsylvania, it's not getting warmer at all. Our summers have been so bad that I wonder if it's worth opening a swimming pool for. The chemicals are expensive, and when it's too cold to swim on the 4th of July, there is definitely something wrong with the picture. Personally, PA did not hit the hottest temps on record in the past 8 or so years, let alone the hottest being in '05. I'd like to know where Gore took those temp readings.

Global warming or not, preserving the Earth for future generations should be important.

Obviously humans are going to produce pollution and waste but I think we should limit it.

My university can spend millions on the football program, but they can't even afford to fund the recycling program

More junk science by Mr. Look At Me!

And spare me the "bad weather" analysis.

Remember when people were predicting the next ice age??

I'm assuming "Mr. Look at Me" is Al Gore- Some one should tell you he's not a scientist; saying it's his "junk science" is a bit juvenile. He's simply a politician who cares about the world we are leaving our children.

Why not go to a library and use Infotrac to find real articles by real scientists in real (and referred) journals? The science is real and definitely not junk.

As for your question...no, I don't
