I was sitting here at my desk (at home) working on my eBay stuff and I noticed that the sky looked funny over towards the river - very, very dark.. All of a sudden it started moving in this direction and then WHAM - a "whiteout" with ZERO visability - and I DO mean ZERO !!! There is a house and a tree not 10 ft. away from my window and I can't see ANYTHING but the color white!!

It's one huge blanket of white - can't even distinguish a snowflake!! They just announced on the radio that there are treacherous whiteout conditions throughout the area..

I've never seen anything develop so fast in my entire life - and there wasn't even anything in the weather report about snow here today..

All I can think of is people driving on the interstate - no warning - just BAM - can't see anything at all! Sure hope no one has been injured.. :(

How frightening! I can't imagine driving along, then having zero visibility like that.

Today is a strange weather day. We had flurries on and off, and then all of a sudden the sun shone brightly!:sunny:

Be careful on your way home!:sunny:

It has been snowing like that all afternoon here. :(
Hope everyone who has drive drive in this mess takes it slow and easy.

It's bright and sunny here in Texas :sunny:

but it's only 28 degrees!!!!!!!!

BURR!!!!!!!!!!!!

YIKES, C. Ann! I'm glad you aren't on the road. Stay inside and stay safe.

Accccckkkkkkkk sounds like "The Mist" YIKES!!! Sounds like you do live on THAT lake... ;)

Keeping people in the roads in my thoughts... it's cool from inside but not if you are out there!

YIKES! we had that coming home last Thursday it was SO scary! we were in the mountains and there was NOWHERE to go, we ust kept going straight and follwing the lights in front of us luckily everyone was smart enough to turn on their hazards and we all crept along at about 15 miles an hour.

I was so scared and just prayed our way through it. They closed the road behind us  and people were stranded at this littel town in the schools, fire department, and wherever they could.

Fortunately no one was killed in the white out.

stay put :)

<font color=navy>That sounds pretty scary. I've never been in those type conditions.

Preshi - I thought the same thing!!! The MIST.

I am SOOOOOO glad I was at home when that happened! I would have been scared out of my mind..

It really WAS spooky.. Just - ZAP - in the blink of an eye! Kind of creeped me out..

Ten minutes later? Sun shining brightly - just like nothing ever even happened..

Creepy - realllllllllll creepy.................

I hate "weather extremes" - they really frighten me because there's NO WAY you can fight the weather - you just have to ride it out.....

I don't know where you are at
but today in PA on interstate 80 there were two different crashes
one involved a dozen cars and trucks with injuries
the second involved at least a couple of trucks with fatalities

not a good day for snow squalls
