WOW!!impressed with my disney experience

We've been planning our May trip as well and have had no problems whatsoever with MDE (knock on wood)

Here we go again, I can't believe it! Someone had a good experience, and immediately the same vultures appear! Can't you people just be happy someone had a good experience? Why do you have to lurk, and be so negative when someone doesn't share the same negativity that you do? Shame on you all! If you're so unhappy, do something else, please!

P. S.: Before you attack me, just know I won't waste my time reading it! So, save your negativity for the next one!

I'd guess all the complaints are driving improvements and fixes as they move forward. :)

I will add that I had a very great experience today! my story is this:
DD22, and I are staying at pop from 5/16 to the 27th with DDP. we preselected our dining reservations on the site, and through the phone with cast members with no problems! today, while waiting for car maintenance, we did out fast passes. other than needing a flow chart to match food reservations with park hours and all, it was easy and fun!
I took the advice from you guys on the boards to schedule FP for the parks we will hit in the afternoon and evening. I did use pen and paper as a visual guide, and we both used our phone's WDW app to look up stuff. we were able to rearrange some dining reservations and some fast passes at relative ease. we called dining reservations and were able to get BoG for dinner when we weren't previously able to get it.
now we know that our plans will change and all the work we did will be in vain, but it was fun to plan ! it helps make the vacation more real and gives us something to do while the days go by.
I had the MB oct 2013 and I know that things have changed, but that experience was drama free and it was fun. we scheduled out FP when we arrived at the parks and it was fine. yes, now they have tiers in some parks, but that's ok!! it's vacation! I'm not stressing over the small stuff. disney could very well get rid of all FP and have everyone stand in line.

I've only had one glitch with the web site, and I have to say the last one made me smile (smart move Disney). The page wouldn't load and a pic of of Stitch came up and the caption read "looks like Stitch ate the page!"

Thanks for posting your positive experience. My husband and I returned from a four night trip two weeks ago, and the entire system worked pretty much flawlessly for us, start to finish. I, too, posted my experience here but it fell off the boards pretty quickly. I laughingly told my husband that the DISBoards' new motto seems to be, "If you don't have something bad to say, you shouldn't say anything."

I booked my vacation a few weeks ago, registered on the website, and put the app on both my iPad, and my iPad. So far no problems. Can't complain at all. I am 5 months away from my vacation, so so far no fastpasses. I have successfully made three dining reservations. I actually changed my hotel reservation when I took advantage of the free Memory Maker offer. That meant I changed from room only to a package. Everything is there, just where I put it.

I keep hoping I will tune in and the reports will be that MDX worked. So far I have not seen this. When I set up my FP+ in early February it appeared that everything was okay, but when I went to use the system it failed miserably. There were ghost FP+s, missing FP+s and the app was down half the time.

Tonight, March 22, using the browser based MDX. It appeared to function at 95%. Changing the FP+ times was much better than prior experiences. I had a range of return times to choose, from a drop down menu. Before the system gave me arbitrary options.

One shouldn't have to resort to Bulletin Boards to resolve issues that should have been debugged before released to the public. It's embarrassing and unprofessional.

Glad to see this thread and hope to see more and more of them as it would mean Disney is really working to improve the site.

Not a complaint, just wondering if anyone else has had issues with online check-in through MDE? I've tried multiple times, and every time it fails towards the end. I contacted Disney and all they could tell me (after checking), is that I should try again some other time. I've tried two different computers, and two different browsers, deleted cookies and still nothing. Oh well. ;)

On our trip 2 weeks ago I had no problems with MDE web page. The app on the other hand was a different story. The app does run very slow on both my 4g connection and wifi connection. There were a few times when we changed fast pass times and attractions for everyone but when we got to the ride only 2 or 3 were changed. After a couple days at the parks I bypassed the app and used the web page on my phone.

Talk about negativity! Doing a drive-by shaming and accusing people of being negative and unhappy vultures just because you don't like what they say. Why do people feel the need to condescendingly preach to others? On one is belittling the OP. Merely expressing surprise at such a glowing review of the website which is pretty much universally recognized to be terrible. One person's positive impression of the website doesn't have any more validity than the THOUSANDS of people's experiences with it being practically non-functional.

Have we sunk so far that someone cannot even make a less than glowing review of Disney's website without being branded negative and a vulture? Really? We're talking about Disney's website here. If you truly believe it doesn't have any issues then you really do live in Fantasyland.

Not to mention that most of the "negative" replies are, in fact, good-natured tongue-in-cheek humor. Maybe if people got down off their soapboxes and learned to have a sense of humor, they wouldn't see so much negativity at every turn.

Have a magical day!

Someone else said they had better luck on the computer, rather than app on phone. What browsers are you using? Dare we hope they are sorting out the IT problems?

I am in the beginning stages but I found it fine as well. Have not really played on tablet or phone (just PC at work shhhhh). Using google chrome and it's much better than old site.

I know the old Disney website used to let you pay off what ever you wanted on your hotel room whenever you wanted prior to your trip. It seems you cannot do this anymore? :confused3

I have been able to make payments thru the disney website with gift cards with no problem. I have found the website to be better then in the past, it's more user friendly. There are occasions where it will tell me to come back later lol.

I'm really REALLY worried about using the site to make our dining ADR's this Wednesday. Our 180 window opens on a day we happen to be driving 500 miles from NC to NY...through an area of mountains with spotty coverage. So I'm planning to have my phone to call CRO and DH's ipad to try the app and see which one I have luck with first.

Everyone knows the site is notoriously glitchy, but perhaps the OP is seeing the beginnings of a turnaround? It would sure be nice! I had to use it a bit last night to customize magicbands for our friends traveling with us. I almost had the couple create their own MDE account but then decided to just keep them listed on ours (they're staying in our villa with us so I will just treat them like they're family and schedule their FP's). I'm worried that making their own account and then linking will create issues.

Glad you had a positive experience OP! Hope we start hearing more like that!

I would rely on the phone (as long as you have service).

Good luck!!

Yes, well...this is with many, many boards, sadly. This one is large and it is inevitable there will be this issue. Got assailed yesterday just for being a resident of this country. Oh, well. I know there is a hot/cold element with the functionality of the newer web site/app, etc. Some days it is truly great and other days truly glitchy. Hopefully, sooner than later they will have it working less glitchy. Glad the OP had a good experience. There's hope.
Glad to hear you can make payments no problem as well. I find the ghost FP+ and addition of people to your party quite troublesome. Seems to be more the exception than the rule; although, when it happens to you, I'm sure it it just a royal pain. A pain that turns one off the process. Hoping for the best for Oct!
