I've gone through most of this thread ... gold is down (way down?) from where it was some months ago, but it still at high levels overall, right? It's still a good time to sell?

I'm not sure how much gold I have. Not much, but some? LOL. Is there a preference between USGB and Goldfellow? Does one still offer a DIS incentive?

usgb lists teh current price/daily and you can also look there for prior gold stats. It is down from the record high, but still higher than it was in past. Personal decision I guess.

Has anyone requested a check from GF? I opted for the check rather that pay the fees through my PayPal accout. How long does it take for them to mail a check and return pieces that weren't valuable?

I got a check from them and it took a full week to receive. I didn't have an non-valuable pieces to be returned, but I'd assume the time frame would be the same for those as well.

I got my settlement call on Friday from GF. We had a bunch of JUNK gold that we sent in (broken chains, that kinda of thing).

We thought that most of the stuff was going to be sent back. We are getting $320 and only one item coming back to us.

Now, I'm going to go through our stuff again and figure out how much sentimental value is truly worth.

I sent my Fed-Ex the Sat. before Labor Day, had my settlement late the week of Labor Day (Thurs I think), and less than a week after agreeing on the amount to get my money from them. I also received in a separate package, the items that were not acceptable.

Got my check yesterday. Sent the fed ex on Wed Sept 3, got settlement offer call on Friday Sept 5th and received the check via USPS yesterday.

That was sooooo fast.

I sent mine in to USGB anyway, because the USGB payout (settlement?)quotes to DISers who had contacted both companies with the same stuff to sell seemed to be higher than the quotes received from GF, even allowing for the extra 10%. Had a good experience with USGB and may use them again soon...

Okay...maybe I'm confused (and I'm too lazy to search back to my posts and see who it was I went with ), but I know I used whoever didn't offer the discount, but they offered higher payouts. Your probably right. I did my gold like 5 or 6 months ago...so the memory could be failing...especially at my age!

We will absolutely continue to honor the DisBoard upgrade. Just write “DISBOARD” on your packing slip. I recommend you write it large and in color so that our graders don’t miss it.
