What exactly do you have to fill out when they come to your house? Do I just fill out the method of payment form that is on USGB site. Was just curious if the fed ex guy would be waiting on me for an hour to fill out forms. Do I have to pay to have it shipped to them. I don't mind if I'm getting big bucks in return.

I just decide to let USGB mail me all the FedEx supplies, complete with a label and packing list. then you just complete the list with your numbers of pices. Seal it up and rop it off. I looked on the FedEx website and there were 3 drop off boxes within a mile of my house. Super easy!!!!

I just called! The only form you are filling out while fedex is there is the airbill.

If you have over 1oz (approx 10 pennies) of gold THEY pay for shipping!

Fedex is coming to pick it up sometime today woohoo!

To give one an idea of what 31.1 grams or 1 troy weight is, from an email to USGB, and Mr. Meir, he stated that 6 quarters gives you an idea of what 1 troy ounce feels like. right now, I only have about 2.5 quarters worth hehe
so I guess I will continue to search out more golden treasure to be sure, arghhh! hey where did the pirate come from?

Amazing! Package was sent from NH yesterday @ 4:00 pm.
By 12:54 pm today U received my offer.
Here is the breakdown:
16 pwt of 10kt gold
45.8 pwt of 14kt gold
96.2 pwt of silver
I had a few rejects of nice chains that were bought overseas.
They had the 14kt and 16kt stamp on them but they turned out to be fake Gold filled crap. Of well...still not a bad day's pay!
Total $879.40!! Of course earkmarked $$ for WDW trip Sept 08!!

Offer was $498.92
Sure it's over $100 less than what they said via the phone last night, but I assumed my weights could have been off & if I could get $500 I'd be VERY happy! PRETTY dang close! I'm thrilled!



I'm so glad I finally sent it in! I'd been lurking through this thread for over a month! Could have probably gotten a higher price last month, but oh well! This was money just sitting in my house, now it's going to the Mouse!

Just found this thread and was wondering do you just send in gold? LIke I have my old wedding ring/engagment ring with diamonds in them. Do I take out the diamonds or leave them in?

USGB doesn't take stones, you would have to take them out. If you go their website you can get info about them.

Did you have fed ex mail you the supplies? I just called USGB and they said that they don't mail you anything that you call fed ex for pick up. The guy I talked to wasn't the nicest person in the world. Was just wondering. We have a drop box in town but no live person drop off. I would have to drive 35minutes to do that. Thanks!

we only have a drop box in town too. I got my envelope right out of the box, that is where I am dropping mine off. they pick up each evening. it should say on the box when they do their pick ups of that box.

I have not taken what I do have, to be weighed, although I may at some point, when I have more precious metal to consider selling,instead like on my previous post, to figure in terms of 1 troy ounce, which is @ equal to 6 quarters, this is the figure that you want to have in mind as a minimum to send, partly to not have to pay shipping to USGB, don't know about GF charging a postal rate if your shipment is under 1 troy ounce, and partly for the sake of having enough to send to make it worth their while as well as yours.

Ok I just was digging through a packed box and came upon some stuff. I have a pretty heavy ring that says 10kt gold filled. Is this worth anything or is it junk? And dang it all I got all excited because I found this old watch that was really heavy and when I read the tag it said something like Seiko Japan metal top. Poot. I thought i hit the motherload. dang these fake watches.
