WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I ended up getting my call less than 10 mins after my last post. I am getting $357 and am very pleased by it. Everything I sent in was either broken or so outdated I wouldn't wear it again. I do have some more stuff I might send end but it probably wouldn't add up to much.

It had said my payment was processed today but it's not showing up in my bank acct?? Maybe in the morning:confused3

Bank wires take 1-2 business day to be completed, but once they are they clear immediately. Should have included that info in my last post! (I work in a bank, can you tell? :rotfl:)

I just sent off a few broken things to Goldfellow, I'm so excited! I have had the stuff sitting in and old jewelry box for YEARS, so if I just get $100 I will be happy. I'm so glad I found think link, I would have never sent in gold to a place like this before. I went with goldfellow after looking them all up on the Better business web site.

HAS anyone sent in gold WITH stones to USGB?
I have several pieces with diamonds (maybe 30 point range) and one with emeralds and diamonds and another with amethyst and ??
I was wondering if they remove the stones to return to you or just add in an additional amount?
ANYONE??
I was SO hoping to get to them but appears I will have to mail.
OH, ARE THEY STILL GIVING EXTRA 10% for DIS members? Even if you go to them??

THANKS SO MUCH for any help!!

I sent in a diamond ring to Goldfellows along with some other gold and got a payout of $458 and change. Goldfellows will only take diamonds over 3 points.

I called USGB and was told they take any items that have gems in it and the
gemologist gives additional money for the gems. I sent them a gold band with 5 emeralds in band among other rings and such with gems. My payout was $271.11. I actually thought I sent more stuff to USGB then Goldfellows.:confused3

Although I didn't get the breakdown, I was just told I was paid for the gems.....I really don't think they pay all that much for them. If you want any items returned they will charge you. I had a couple of pieces that weren't gold and they said they would donate to salvation army. Hope this helps you.:)

no I was really too stunned...he had to ask me if it was allright....I told him it was fine unless he wanted to add a little more!!! I know when I sent it out it weighed 8 oz on my kitchen scale but I don't know about the breakdown or purity........

I really need to go home, I have had waaaay too much excitement for the day.

Really not a bad way to end a day that started with a severed mouse head at my bedroom door!!! :scared1:

Congratulations on your great payout! :)

and, OMG about the mouse head. I'd be dead on the floor next to it!!!!!!!!

After reading as much of this thread as I could, I sent some gold off to Goldfellows on Wednesday. It's supposed to arrive there on Monday. Some of my rings have stones in them (though I don't think precious ones). I thought I read where Goldfellows sent back what they couldn't use. Would this include stones?

Goldfellows sent me back my "no value" items. They arrived about 2 days after my check did. This included a ring with a stone I was not sure of, and still am not sure what it is.

OMG... thanks to the OP. :worship:

Yesterday, my package was delivered to
Goldfellows at 10:49am. I got my settlement
offer at 4:53pm. They called this morning
to verify my bank routing number and account
number. 30 minutes later, the money is in
my account. Superfast turnaround in my
opinion.

Get this... $958.27. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

I sent in two herringbone necklaces (not heavy ones), four
very thin necklaces, six charms of varying sizes, only one
of them was any weight at all, probably 10-12 mismatched
earrings, 5 rings and 3 cold goins (small like pandas
and a canadian one).

I have more to send, but was testing the waters with this
first package.

I am so pleased. We leave for our Disney cruise tomorrow.
Can anyone say... spending money???

Thanks again,
Lori

I wanted to add that a couple rings that I sent had some diamond chips that were not returned.(although I did not expect them too return them). They were basically valueless.

Thanks for this thread!:goodvibes I went through Goldfellow and received $139.00 for a few lightweight pieces. I was really pleased because I was expecting less than a $100. I Fed Exed my package on a Wednesday and had a check by the following Tuesday.

Woo hoo! I just saw my package arrived today, instead of Monday. I just need to keep myself from checking the Goldview every 15 minutes to see if my settlement is ready. Do they call you before putting it on the website?

Could you share what you sent? I'm debating because I don't feel like I have a tonne of stuff, but haven't gotten to the post office to get an idea of the weight. I have about 5 charms, a charm holder, 2 thin necklaces, and about 5 rings. I'm curious how much they likely weigh/what the payout would be like as I found out that Goldfellow will accept pkgs. from CDN's.

I went through all my gold jewelry and pulled out pieces that I haven't worn in 3 years or so, looked them over and decided that I don't think I'll be wearing them anytime soon. Keep all the pieces that I really like/love and wear then said to myself....would you miss these pieces....nope. Off to my jeweler to have something worked on so I brought a baggie with gold and ended up getting $600.00 plus no charge for the work he's doing on two rings. So I was a happy camper indeed.

If I hadn't seen it mentioned on here I would have never given it a thought. So "Thanks" to you all.

I sent a package to USGoldbuyers Monday, it was received Tuesday, and no phone call yet. :confused3 I'm wondering when I can expect something.

When you send your packages to US Gold via FedEx can or have you added insurance on the contents?

Trying to get my items ready to ship.

Thanks

I've been checking London gold closing prices each day, as well as the payout rates for US Goldbuyers & Goldfellow.

I accidentally typed in usgoldbuyer instead of usgoldbuyers a few minutes ago. Guess what the first google listing was? This thread!

How funny! :)

I'm still trying to get my stuff together to send. I've been swamped at work--and taking a lot of stuff home evenings and weekends. I need a life! *LOL*

Now that is funny :lmao: Goldfellow, may be getting a few extra Disboard members ;) I am expecting my settlement soon from Goldfellow, only sent in a few actual gold pieces but I wasn't wearing them anyway.

I just sent off my 'junk' to USBG now. I don't expect much over $100 but hey, they could pay for the stroller rental, right? Plus, it is $100 for stuff that was sitting in jewelry box I haven't opened in years.

:cool1:
