I sold my broken things today. 29.1 dwt. @26= $756.60. I really didn't want to mail it in. I had stopped at a jewelry store by work Saturday he offered me $275 and then raised it to $400, but I knew from this thread it was worth way more than that. I went to Edlin Gold/Silver exchange.

I just my package out today, so I am very excited to see what I get. They won't receive it until Thursday, which is a bummer, but hopefully I will hear something on Friday. How long is everybody waiting before they hear from Goldfellow's?

Goldfellow received my package at about 1:30 last wednesday and they called at 2:45 to say my settlement was ready to view online! Very fast! However, make sure you request a check mailed to you. Paypal is holding the e checks for 3-5days and charging a fee on them. Just a heads up!!

I also think it is probably better to sell your gold now than to wait to see if it goes up. I don't know about the rest of you but I am going to use it to finish paying off a credit card and then to save for next vacation. My package has arrived at usgoldbuyers this morning, can't wait to see my settlement either!

Sorry to ask you but you seem to be more enlightened re: wght and dwt and this thread is sooooo long - would you happen to know the conversion of 1.5 ounces of 14K to dwt? I just keep getting more and more confused. Thanks.

1.5 ounces is 30 dwt (there are 20 pennyweights (dwt) per oz).

That Can Not Be......I am sure that I am overestimating a bit (postal scale kept jumping from 1.4 oz to 1.5 oz) plus one of the slimmer bracelets is on 10K but hey.....I am figuring on ... oh .... Much More Disney $ Today than I had Yesterday - Yippee!!

And to think some of that stuff goes back to my teen years and an ex or two lol!!! Now I know why I did not throw it in the garbage!

Can anyone answer this question for me:
I have a piece or two of 14k that has embedded diamond chips. I'd like to save the diamonds to use something else. Does anyone know if Goldfellow or US GoldBuyer will take them out and send them back? Do they charge to do that?
I'm probably just going to call them but I've got to imagine that they're super busy right now.

I found a lot of gold chains in my jewelry box but I'm not sure if they are real gold. Does all real gold say 14k or 10k on it ? I don't want to send it and then be embarassed when they tell me it's all junk. I also thought about scouting out the thrift stores or yard sales to look for gold, but I don't know how to tell the real thing.

It looks like at this moment silver is $20, while gold is $1,005. While you may not get as much for your silver if you have a lot and aren't wearing, well, you might as well turn it into cash.

What is the first step? Calling them to arrange pick up and that is how they pay shipping?

Then do they send you an envelope to ship the jewelry in?

What do I include in the shipment? Just the Method of Payment form?

Then I just wait? Do I get a call? Then decide if I accept or not?

In the instructions was a sample FedEx airbill with their account number on it. I went to a local place that had FedEx supplies and filled in the airbill with the info they gave me. It didn't cost me anything out of pocket. I sent the gold and the method of payment form. They received my package on Saturday and I'm still waiting to hear from them. Hopefully it'll be today.

Where do you find the online form on there website? I can only find a simple form under their Contact Us section. Is that what you used?

I just called US Gold Buyers and the recording said "Due to unusually high volume they won't be taking any more mail ins till Monday March 24th". I guess I'll try Goldfellows instead.
