WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I've been following this thread so closely. I'm wondering if anyone knows the biggest difference between goldfellow.com and USgoldbuyers.com. USgoldbuyers got a glowing story in the New York Times recently and seem to be paying more. But then again, I'm not 100 percent sure. I only have about 1 1/2 ounces of gold in my sellable jewelry, but I want to be sure to get top dollar.

I would like to know too!

I just got off the phone with gold fellow. They adjusted my price to the next level basically giving me the price for 5 oz, so I got $213 instead of $194. I asked about paypal and she said they cover the fees, no charge to the customer. Nice folks...

Very nice people. I got my settlement today and am very happy. One piece was not real gold and they offered to send it back but I declined. Very easy process and a pleasant experience. I already have my mom and sister requesting envelopes.

I have both 14K and 18K gold pieces. Do I have to seperate them out myself or will goldfellow or USgoldbuyers do it for me?

Goldfellow will separate everything for you, I can't speak for the others. I had some 10k, 14k and 18k and they break it down into weights and price for you. I'm still cracking up the the engraved bracelet from my first boyfriend turned out not to be real, although I'm not surprised. :rotfl:

Paypal did charge me a fee for the deposit goldfellow made yesterday. Almost $6. And it says its an e check so it won't clear for 3-5 days. I would have been better off having a check mailed to me. Probably would have gotten it sooner and wouldn't have paid the fee.:confused3

You have to click on the transaction details to see the fee. It doesn't show it on the summary page.

If you don't mind me asking....how much did you get for all of your?

how are you all weighing your gold??? I don't have a scale available that would do that.

I'm using a small postal scale I use for Ebay stuff. But you can try a kitchen scale too to get a rough estimate of the weight.

=( I don't have an Ebay scale or a kitchen scale. hmmmm........

You can take it to a local jeweler or pawn shop and get their offer and then you'll know the weight. They may even make a decent offer. However, it seems that most people are doing a little better by sending it somewhere. I know I got twice the amount my local jeweler offered me.

Been reading both Gold threads with great interest!

I have a bag of broken and/or unwanted gold necklaces and a couple of rings ready to go in my pocketbook.

I'm going to look around locally for some places that buy gold and see what they offer but I'm very tempted to do the online route.

Can't decide if I want to go with them yet though. Maybe after I get some prices around here first.

One necklace is 18K and never worn. It was just too long. Not to my liking. It's still in the pretty purple bag it came in.

Can't wait to see what my loot is worth! :thumbsup2

I really want to do this so maybe I will take a looksie around my jewelry box tonight and see what I can come up with!! =)

I just went to a local jeweler and got a price for my old gold. They offered $680 for stuff I knew for sure I wanted to sell, and $136 for stuff I am not sure about selling yet. Seemed like a good price, but I may try usgold like others on here if they are really paying that much more. Thinking about goldfellow also. Can't decide which one to do! I here the usgold pays better, but if goldfellow is truly paying the 10% more for Dis'ers it may be worth it. But how would I know if they were really giving me 10% more, or just saying that?
