Can someone explain how this works? I have some gold I would LOVE to sell
Thanks
Thanks
Paypal lists their fees as 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction.
My breakdown was :
1.7 Dwt 10K @ 9.86= 16.76
12.5 Dwt 14K @ 13.80=172.50
Total 189.26
I just got my statement from gold fellow. Here's how mine broke down:
14 Karat Pennyweight (DWT)11.8 Price per DWT$13.80 Settlement $162.84
18 Karat Pennyweight (DWT)1.8 Price per DWT $17.74 Settlement $31.93
Total- $194.77
Not bad for some old broken jewelry.
I don't see on usgoldbuyers website how much they pay for smaller amounts of gold (under 5 oz.) Does anyone here know? I have a couple of old rings and earrings that I would sell, but they have stones in them. If usgoldbuyers is paying more then I'll use them.
Anyone know if they take gold coins too-I have an 1915 2 1/2 dollar gold coin.

Interesting thread. Just a PSA - Don't leave your sizable stones in the gold. These can be popped out and given a value separate from the gold. Also ask to see a jeweler when visiting a jewelry store for an appraisal, not just a counter employee. Call ahead and ask if they have one on the premises. When possible (like those that live near NYC) visit the refinery directly to sell your gold your profit will be greater.
How do you 'pop-out' stones in your rings? Is it possible to do at home or should we ask the jeweler?
Then, Will the jewelers give them a value and possibly buy them also?
If we send then intact to the mail-away places, will they pull them out and also return them?
(sorry for so many questions and thanks in advance for helping all of us!!)
